Finally saw Midsommar

Yeah, because breh knew he was in a horror movie, right?He went there to work on his thesis. He's an anthropologist, studying different cultures is kind of the point. If you had said dude should have taken the first horse and buggy out of town the second cacs started jumping off cliffs you might have had a point. Going there in the first place is not at all forgoing common sense.

What would possess a black man to take a trip with only white people, to an entirely white country that you are unfamilar with and an entirely white commune?
That was the least believable part of the movie to me.

Aster should have just made that character white because I can't believe any black person would do that.

I found the film fascinating to watch, which is more than enough to make the film worthwhile for the best part of 3 hours. It was flawed, and wasn't scary, but it was unsettling and I think there's a lot of subtext there about tradition, feminism, genetics, which is as interesting as the weirdness that goes on throughout.

My only major criticism is that the dude who played Dani's boyfriend was a bum. Just a really wooden and unconvincing actor.
