How and I hating on a game I gave a 9/10 :why:

I listed the same problems then when I gave it a 9/10 as I am now.

Sony Stan's wild.

nikka you’ve expended more energy than the spirit bomb hating on this game since June and you gave it a higher score than every other game you’ve played this year outside of midfield.

You are a stan of epic proportions

Finally just beat this game a minute ago (credits still rolling as I type this). I got over 90 hours for my first play through. Might be more than 100, although I often leave games idle for a grip of time, so it might be more like 70-75-ish hours of actual playtime. Man...what a game! Definitely one of the best I played this year. It's definitely not perfect and some fairly mind-boggling and outright disappointing flaws for sure, but the highs are possibly the highest in a game I've ever played possibly ever. I completed the game at level 49, with completion of all the side-quests, kilt all the "marks" on the hunt board and crafted the ultimate weapon...I think. I got a trophy for it, so I think it's the strongest weapon in game, but I thought I heard some folks say that you couldn't create the ultimate weapon in your first play-through, so Ionno, as I didn't look up on it past that.

I'm leaning on giving the game a 9/10, tho the flaws really have me putting it at an 8/8.5, but the highs and my overall enjoyment of the good things about the game, had not been for its flaws, would have it at like a 16/10.

Graphically, at its highest moments, it's utterly ridiculous how good the game can look. The final battle and a couple earlier ones, looked so fukking majestic, my eyes were literally watering over, in a good way, (mostly, albeit it was a tad distracting at times with how stupidly vibrant it would get, felt like my eyes were going to melt). shyt really made me glad I upgraded my tv last year to this 77" LG OLED joint. Shiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeet!!!!

Also, I did the entire play through in graphic mode. I'm trying out now the Final Fantasy NG+ mode real quick in performance mode. I will say, that throughout the entire game, only 1 section of the game did I ever notice any frame rate issues and that was solely in 1 field near the end of the game that was always consistent at that place near the castle.

Funny, tho I played the game originally in graphic mode, which worked perfectly fine and no real hiccups in the gameplay, playing it in performance just feels so damn smooth. Gfx still look really good too, for the most part. It seems like the camera is in closer. I do notice some blurriness in some of the sights on-screen tho that were not present in graphics mode. The main downside of performance mode is that I do see what technical reviewers were talking about with some of the frame pacing being off and whatnot. It's super clean in feel when you're actually starting combat, but there's moments outside of it and in cutscenes even, that are a just a tad off with the playback. It's hardly the worse thing in the world to be hung up about, but I am glad to have experience the game in all its graphical glory first, like I waned to.

I'm really enjoying just re-starting the game over as well, aside from the slow start up. Tho even that isn't so bad since I really enjoyed the story and characters and its even having a bit more of a clearer perspective n shyt since I know what's up and all the characters n shyt. It's cool re-visiting them being younger again, as I'd forgotten some characters that were shown when they were younger that you still meet up with much later in the game when you're older.
