Just keeping it real here those Eikon fights were amazing spectacles to behold but as actual boss battles they were trash. They weren’t challenging and most of them dragged on for too long. They felt like extra long cutscenes. Cool to look at and experience for the first time but that novelty was most of the enjoyment. The pre-prime Benedikta and Titan fights were better bosses than the Eikon parts.

This game is a lot like Metal Gear Solid 4. It was an amazing experience at the time but now that I’ve completed it I doubt I ever really want to go back and experience it again. The best part was seeing these things unfold for the first time.

The ending also left a sour taste for me personally. I felt cheated to play through this long game to get the sort of ending this game had.

If the fights were dragging for you I get it, they were large scale and had a lot of phases. That shyt just worked for me. Being able to actually fight as a summon instead of giving commands was part of what made this game great. Controlling Phoenix against Bahamut like a Star Fox boss battle? Heat.

The game is flawed and they need to look at the combat as a blueprint instead of the finished article, but I can accept what didn't work here and still think it was worth my time.

And even if this wasn't your idea of an FF game they usually make a lot of changes with every mainline entry in the series

I still think the boss fights where you fight the dominants before they fully prime were better fights than the Eikon fights. They use the real mechanics of the game and your real abilities.

Those Eikon fights were on the fly battle systems assembled for each fight with long health bars that you had to drain in stages. Once their health got so low you had to go through a QTE to continue.

The Odin fight was also the best Eikon fight even if it was the least spectacular.
It was better how they merged the real battle system with the Eikon one and went back and forth.

:wow:

It's nice to be right in the end.

Sony Stan's didn't like hearing the truth from me a couple months ago.

Outside of @Fatboi1 who kept it 100 :ehh:

We’re still waiting on the starfield review:coffee:
Seeing as I'm like 28 hours in and like level 11 with only like 7 or so main quest completed

That might be awhile.

Starfield being glaring weakness is no local area map.

Outside of that 10/10

You started playing it in early access, and you’re still only 28 hours in? You finished FFXVI in under two weeks

It must not be that compelling if you’re at the same spot you were last week. :coffee:

Which week old review is this? The one I gave in August or...?

The game as it stands is fire. A easy 10/10 as of now.

I have 25 hours of "so called idle" time now and I'm level 7 and haven't even scratched the surface of what the game has to offer.

Ive only done just a handful of quests.

So, you played exactly 3 more hours of this game and gained exactly one level (with only a handful of quest) since the beginning of the month ? Sounds like a 10/10 experience :coffee:

Someone here is being dishonest and we know who it is :coffee:

@The Mad Titan pretending it's a delicious steak that he's savoring when - in reality - he's bored as fukk and can only play in short bursts :russ:

I didn't finish 16 until like early or mid August :mjlol: you literally quoted me in other threads.

The last 5 or so hours of that game I struggled to even care about. :sadcam:

But still a good game, just not a good FF game :manny:

Also my fault, time flies when you having a good time. :banderas:
