What’s the purpose of magic(triangle) in this game? Unless I’m using it wrong I feel like it does no damage

Is there a way to make it more useful?

It's a very weak attack. I pretty much only use it with the regular combo and sometimes do the charge up version on a staggered enemy.

I love that the game basically gives each major/minor character a final side quest before the end. I liked the Tarja, Torgal and Jill ones. Shame we didn't get one with the medicine girl.
