whatever they do for KH 20th year anniversary will be low effort. Why yall think they would release a sequel to a game which 3rd game too kthem 15 years to make in 2 years is bizarre.

just because nintendo announced a mario game or bethesda announced fallout 4 a couple months before doesn't mean thats gonna be a standard. If a game doesn't have actual gameplay or even a teaser it's not coming out within two years.

KH3 dev problems was the result of multiple things. All which have nothing to do with their development cycles now.

And Melody of Memories was already their "low effort" title. Nomura has been hyping up this 2022 KH game for over 2 years now. It's 100% gonna be a "main" title.

they've learned their lesson. I think early june would be the latest they'd showcase it and still release it in 2021 otherwise it's most likely a late quarter 1 early quarter 2 2022 release date

This is another good point. FFXVI has nothing to do with Nomura. No reason to think it will get delayed.

XVI been in development for the past three years. And its the FFXIV team...the one that actually knows how to put out games on time. I think Holiday 2021 is DOABLE but ambitions.

Also, 7R 2 hasn't even been spoken about. I don't expect that until 2024 PS5 exclusive. There's no way they clip XVI's earnings by dropping VIIIR the very next year. Square almost NEVER does back to back years with big games like that. The only exception was back in 99/2000 when VIII and IX were developed at the same time.

It'll probably get pushed back, it's easier to push games back now with C-19 as an excuse.

In saying that, I'd imagine Square will want it out for the next fiscal year (so before Feb 2022). It's likely to clash with GoW 2 in that case.
