What happened on acquiring summons via side quest and secret missions?

The fact that Witcher 3 has gotten GOTY , tell me Final Fantasy will be fine. Witches had no interesting comment and only got it's status due to a large and detailed lore and like 2 or 3 interesting memorable quest lines. Honestly if FF was marketed as being from some new development team and an original IP we wouldn't even get half the complaints.
Basically. But it could get a lot of average or bad reviews because it's quests, dialogue and themes aren't structured like Witcher which every new generation gamer under 23 seems to want to compare this game to.
But but the graphics aren't like witcher.

But but the game play it's like a fake devil may cry.
Um Witcher is a fake batman playing like a watered down shadows of mordor with generic spells.
Then you get to the heart of it that these dudes are mad because the dialogue is more light hearted and cheesy instead dark amd gory with mature themes which to me is only thing that makes Witcher worth playing.

summons via dlc sounds like a bad idea. summons usually have a backstory related to the main story so i'm not sure how it's gonna work to just randomly add them and what if you beat the game before they release those summons? it'll be pointless since you couldn't use them throughout the game. doesn't sound good to me.

Agree with this part but disagree with everything not bolded. I'm not a dlc fan , hate it for the industry overall but you don't have to have it integrated into the main story. Part of summons in final fantasy you got where from side quest anyway. It's not hard to just create a quest line that involves acquiring a summon.

the only summons you got from side quests were the 1-2 elite ones but i think they stopped that after 10. i remember in 13 you got the summons throughout the story.

In FFXII you hardly got any summons via the story or side quests...they were just placed in obscure places on the world map from what i remember
