Final Fantasy might be able to be a mega huge seller much like COD if it would stop just supporting one or two consoles here and there on and off... If they gonna do that just go ahead and become someone's 1st part studioFinal Fantasy 5-10 million every 5 years.
Call of duty 15+ million every year (+ in-game transactions & Subs)
Its not really in the same league. Also, Final Fantasy has historically sold like shyt on xbox. Crisis Core didn’t even chart on xbox in any region these past two weeks

Capcom has seen the light of Multiplatform success with MH and really hasn't looked back with all there big name IP's. And there pockets have grown because of it
Square should be doing the same with all there Big budget projects.
FF16 and 7 Remake should have legit been on everything even the switch in some manner and at some point
Man did you really just list what is regarded as two of the worse final fantasy games in the mainline series and then ask why it didn't work? It didn't work because the games were trash. Of course those are the games the xbox players got out the gate...If it didn’t work for 13 and 15, why would it work for 16? Square Enix already launched two final fantasy games (and all the sequels to 13) on xbox and nothing changed, the series and a lot of JRPGS just don’t sell on Xbox which is why SE felt comfortable making this deal to begin with.
As for switch theres no chance in hell it was gonna get Remake or 16, considering the fact that not even XV could run well on switch which is why it got the pocket edition. Same with XVI, as its not even releasing on ps4.
It’s Nintendos fault as to why they dont get AAA games

FF7Re dropping on everything as well as FF16 dropping on everything followed by part 2 dropping on everything would be HUGE for them.
If Doom and Crysis can run on the switch as well as MHR then FF7RE even tweaked can, I can't say they could get FF16 too.. so I won't lie with that one. But FF7Re that can happen if they wanted it too.
They sold well because the install base is huge. It's really that simple, if your install base is low and jrpgs are upon the lowest in that install base... Well yeah.Yet, nothing stopped those games from selling well on the ps3 and ps4
Maybe xbox players shouldnt be so picky when it comes to what JRPGs they get.
and the install base for the 360 when FFXIII came out was low is what you're gonna say? Breh just admit it, Xbox aint' the platform for where JRPG players are. it's a small minority. Nothing wrong with that. They sold well because the install base is huge. It's really that simple, if your install base is low and jrpgs are upon the lowest in that install base... Well yeah.
However if they would drop all there mainline titles as MP games they would see that install base continue to grow.

If FF13 is there breakout Multiplatform mainline game, and the install base is low or lets save even with the 360 but the jrpg players are the lowest in that "even install base" then yeah the sales are going to be low. Top it off with the game being trash, then not only are sales going to fall off they are going to fall hard. They sold well because the install base is huge. Then you follow up again with another trash FF game with a lower install base than the 360 and do the same exact thing I can't imagine what is wrong...
imagine if sony stans were upset about not being able to play halo or gears shyt would look bizzare
sony should have exclusivity with all FF titles if they want to, just off principle, the hell is the argument in here nintendo is the same, everyone go their OG shyt, it's microsoft's own fault that hey couldn't keep their shyt up to a standard that keeps their core base happy
you can't press them over a franchise that's been their own OG staple from jump goofy behavior
there's no reason Lost Odyssey didn't have a longer runXbox fans don’t support certain genre’s on their platform and then get mad when they end up getting skipped. Octopath traveler did so horribly on gamepass that they aren’t even getting the sequel.
Same with Capcom, they completely skipped xbox for the Mega Man Battle Network collection because they saw how terribly Ace Attorney collection sold, i think it was 3 digits.
You can’t demand someone support a platform the audience isn’t there for.

Jade Empire, etc. these could've been their FF series, they were fire, smh
