Gravity. Looks great. Sounds excellent. But that’s script kept kicking me in the balls

Never going to take any movie opinion on here seriously from now on
after watching pulp fiction a few times i decided that i dont like it. its ok i guess but i like other tarantino movies much better (jackie brown & inglourious basterds).
lord of the rings and harry potter never appealed to me. they seem like good movies to fall asleep to.
godfather 2 is pretty good but i thought it was a very slow movie at one point

Breh speaking for myself; I didn’t call any movie I dislike trash. I said I don’t like it.
I can watch 2001 and admire it for what it does. For the craft behind it and what Kubrick is going for. That doesn’t mean I have to like it. Those are two very different things. I’d never call 2001 or even casino trash. I’d say they don’t work for me and I can lay out reasons as to why they don’t.
It’s okay to not like something but still respect what went into it. It’s not black and white with art although the Coli and the internet as a whole would love for us to believe it is.
Just like I can look at gravity or interstellar and admire things about them but still not like them because they don’t speak to certain aspects I love about filmmaking.
That was part of the reason for making this thread actually. When @Jello Biafra or @Zero ssid they didn’t like two horror classics, they didn’t diss the movies. They just said they didn’t work for them and explained why while still acknowledging the merits of the respective movies. That’s good posting and good discussion without turning it into myopic “good” or “trash” so many of our movie discussions turn into on this board. And that happens way too often.

- The original Bad Boys isn't that good of a movie. There were better action movies out at the time
- The Avengers doesn't hold up on repeat viewings. The whole Hawkeye mind control stuff was stupid. Also, the Shield gun battle at the beginning was just boring.
And I feel like people need to start listing films that they like within the genre of the movies that they're hating on. Because some of you guys... I think you just have bad taste.
