I feel that but let me raise this counterpoint: Craig plays him more like the books, very much like Dalton did which is sex is a weapon or just a means to past the time. Moore seemed like he'd much rather have sex than save the world and Connery seemed the same from Goldfinger on forward. The scene in Casino Royale where he's with the chick, gets wind of his mark leaving town and ditches her is what Bond is supposed to be, at least according to Fleming and according to the people in the movies. He uses them as dispensable pleasures merely to past the time. Like in Dr. No when he's with the girl and looks at his watch while kissing her.

Yeah, I always like that about his character as well. This was really personified in Spectre where he had that bad chick from Nacros ready.

Word. It's a means to an end. 006 said it in goldeneye: the loyalty is never to his friends it's always the mission. Everything he does on a mission is in service of said mission and that's it. He's got a singular focus

And someone said Craig's bond is more of an anti hero but that's how Connery was when he first started. The fact that he would shoot someone in the back or in cold blood was unheard of in the 60s

Myself. fukk 12(1)!
I love Timothy Dalton as Bond; I probably watch License to Kill once a year:yeshrug:

I do find it funny though that at the time, he (and the movie) was criticized for "too dark/violent".

I blame the directors more than the actors.

Pierce Bronson was legit until that writing with down the toilet

So he was legit for one movie then because the writing and direction went off a cliff after 95. He says he takes some blame for it as well because he never decided how he wanted his bond to be. He said he got caught between being Sean and roger and never got to do what he wanted to do with the role

As a Bond I don't think Pierce can be topped. AS A BOND. He has some garbo ass movies but he was a perfect fit for the Bond character despite the plights.

In terms of overall movies you'd have to go back. :yeshrug: I consider Casino Royale the best movie, but Goldeneye before it was the last of the good films. So I'd say viewer preference, but he is the best Bond since Connery.
