Surprised Maidana wanted to go with everlast---I've never used their $400 gloves but Everlasts always seemed thick in the knuckles to me.
Reyes gloves=recipe to breaking your hand or KO'ing your opponent. I got a pair of low end grants ($200, 14oz) and they're excellent for your knuckles/wrist. GGG does the same thing with his gloves that iron mike did

Well its obvious the padding was re-distributed. And I would also say they tried to pull a fast one before the fight thinking no one would notice. I'm pretty sure those type of gloves were not discussed during contract negotiations and stipulations etc.
