I think the problem is, is finding a team thats passionate about remaking it. I could see people over there being much more excited about the other games in the series, especially X since it was another break out hit

You ask people to waste 5 years of their lives remaking a game instead something original takes a lot of buy in... This is why FF7 is a Reqeul. It's the only way they could get people on board for it.

Id say the only movie game FF's are really 7 and 10 to a certain extent. Granted those are also 2 of the great FF games.

Resources are better spent elsehere even the OG PS2 game holds X/X-2 hold up incredibly well, imo and the remasters are fine. Remake 1 through 6. Or Remake 8 and 9.
