also funny how people are quick to downplay FFXVI’s sales but gas Street Fighter 6, a game that released on 4 platforms, just as old as a franchise and only managed to sell a million copies

SF6 is doing great compared to its own standards.
FF16 has sold 40% less than its predecessor so far.

Seems like for such a valued franchise it should at least be selling half of what final fantasy sells, especially across 4 platforms and 60 dolalrs but

FF is a very valued franchise. Not even sure what you are trying to prove here. Different games have different standards. Like if TLOU3 sells 3 mill in a week that would be a “disappointment” compared to the last game. Square themselves said they were having trouble “Growing” the franchise. All the big changes they made were in pursuit of that goal of growing the franchise. This game has sold 40% less than the last game in the franchise.
They changes they made in game design and marketing have not grown the franchise, it seems to have taken a step back.
