a bit off topic but something i was pondering. thought about also making a thread of it....
you know "our generation"(ill assume your young also) ....you see how we always heard the older folks discussing racism and saying "I grew up in the south.." and that almost being a conviction without them going on that you know what they talking about cause traditionally the south has been known for the extreme racism especially during their time growing up....
you know what im getting at now... our generation down the line will be saying that for the NORTH....definitely. isn't it funny how history can be funny like that
we gonna be telling our kids we grew up in the North in New York or Baltimore, etc.
Its crazy when I was a kid I use to hate older black folks acting like they know me. Telling me the usual "you're young black male you cant be doing this or you won't be treated the same...ect shyt use to piss me off with that black shyt. I uses to say "im not scared of shyt. im a human being just like everybody else this aint the 70s....why do I have to change the way I am. why cant I make a mistake ..go home with scary negro shyt"
Later on, I learn fast aint no place for us unless we providing some entertainment. All those black teacher, football coach, counselor, old black folks from my neighborhood/school was trying give me game from they experience (when everything that activist try didnt work). So all they can do is to make sure I know that anytime ...anywhere I can be a victim/stats/hashtag(now) of this great institution they build up
As a kid I never understood those black folks in the street or tv who was preaching about pro blackness. I also never understood why it made other older black ppl around uncomfortable and uneasy to the point they treat pro-black as a joke
The cycle will never end. Now 90s babies know this shyt. They will soo let the next generation know
