so, apparently this kid was never a witness.. and, the media just ran with that whole narrative.. :beli:

Of course they did. They want people to think he was one of the people who changed their testimony and was killed out of revenge when it was probably some KKKAK who killed him and the other cat.

Fatal Shooting Not Justified, The Police Say
By ROBERT D. McFADDEN and IAN URBINA
Published: January 25, 2004

A 19-year-old high school student who intended to take a rooftop shortcut to a birthday party was shot and killed by a police officer early yesterday at the top of a dark stairwell leading to the roof of a Brooklyn housing project. Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly said the shooting appeared to be unjustified.

In a confrontation in which coincidence and surprise apparently played tragic roles, officials said the victim, Timothy Stansbury Jr., who was walking up the narrow interior stairs ahead of two friends, and one of two officers on the roof simultaneously grabbed the handles of a door atop a four-story building at 385 Lexington Avenue, in Bedford-Stuyvesant, about 1:30 a.m.
As the door swung open, one of the uniformed officers, who were patrolling in the dark with drawn guns, fired a single shot that struck Mr. Stansbury in the chest. He staggered backward and, as his friends ran, he descended, bleeding, down five flights of stairs to the ground floor, where he collapsed, the police said.

The police summoned an ambulance, and Mr. Stansbury, who lived next door at 395 Lexington Avenue, was taken to Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Center, where he was pronounced dead. Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and other city officials visited the victim's family later to offer condolences and were jeered by crowds as they left.

Charity Aimed At Supporting Darren Wilson Refuses To Release Financial Information

Shield of Hope has raised at least $400,000 in support of Wilson.

WASHINGTON — The charity that raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to support Darren Wilson is refusing to say how it has spent that money.

Shield of Hope, a 501c3 charity for local police officers, raised at least $400,000 on GoFundMe.com to support Wilson, the police officer who killed Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri.

Now, months after the charity shut down that GoFundMe page, those running the organization are refusing to say what they’ve done with the donations and whether any of the funds have gone toward supporting Wilson. A note on the now-shuttered GoFundMe page said the charity would use the money for “potential legal fees, relocation and living expenses of both Officer Darren Wilson and his immediate family.”

According to Brian Beck, the lawyer who represents Shield of Hope, that information might be released at some point.

“Shield of Hope will make information available to the public at the appropriate time, and declines to comment at this time,” Beck told BuzzFeed News in an email.
Other calls and emails to the charity’s board have either gone unanswered or the person reached refused to comment on the charity’s actions. When initially reached by phone, Beck refused to even confirm he was Shield of Hope’s lawyer.

A grand jury recently opted not to indict Wilson in connection with Brown’s death and an ongoing federal investigation has yet to yield any results.

An email to Wilson’s lawyer was not returned.

After securing the donations, one of the charity’s board members said those running Shield of Hope weren’t entirely sure they could legally use the funds raised for their intended purpose.

“If we find money was donated to the Shield of Hope’s GoFundMe and it can’t be used for the express purpose it was intended for, we will return it,” Jeff Roorda, one of the charity’s board members, told the Riverfront Times in September.

The board consists of Roorda, a state representative who was ousted in November, Timothy Zoll, the spokesman for the Ferguson police department, and Florissant councilman Joseph Eagan.

As a 501c3, the charity is required to file an annual 990 financial disclosure form. But 990s don’t always tell the whole story of how an organization operates.

A search on Guidestar.com shows no viewable 990 forms from Shield of Hope, which has existed since at least 2011.

good to see all these non violent protest, but this needs to lead to something bigger. like a civilian group that polices the police or something? Can't protest forever, just wished there was an end game here or something that can come from this to stop cops from doing this and not taking responsability. that's what pisses me off the most is none of these police forces take responsability.
:childplease:

We know what the end game is. Black people are just too scared to admit it.

"There are Negroes who will never fight for freedom.

There are Negroes who will seek profit for themselves alone from the struggle. There are even some Negroes who will cooperate with their oppressors. These facts should distress no one.

Every minority and every people has its share of opportunists, profiteers, free-loaders and escapists.”

-Martin Luther King, Jr.

a bit off topic but something i was pondering. thought about also making a thread of it....

you know "our generation"(ill assume your young also) ....you see how we always heard the older folks discussing racism and saying "I grew up in the south.." and that almost being a conviction without them going on that you know what they talking about cause traditionally the south has been known for the extreme racism especially during their time growing up....

you know what im getting at now... :sas2: our generation down the line will be saying that for the NORTH....definitely. isn't it funny how history can be funny like that :wow:

we gonna be telling our kids we grew up in the North in New York or Baltimore, etc.
