H said he had a special fight planned in may, this pac shyt is detox status at this point for whatever reason

hopkins is crazy enough to drop down to 160 he already said he would do it, plus it would be his biggest pay day

floyd's beat all the guys, if porter didn't just lose, would say he was next in line of this strength of his victories

Thurman needs to be a guy on his level first to garner the fight like maidana took out broner
Can you imagine a Shawn Porter/Floyd Mayweather Jr fight? :laff: shyt would be :mjlol: status

Do we feel he will get to possibly 50-0?

not a floyd stan obviously:troll:.....but floyd looked as great as a 38 year old can possibly look. he's not anywhere near his prime anymore. he moved a lot last night, but his movement looked stiff and rigid compared to the way he used to glide around the ring before he moved to 147. I guarantee dude's knee's are straight up killin him today. and despite maidana landing 100 less punches in this fight, he managed to land much more cleaner punches on floyd. first time in a long minute really seeing floyd's neck getting snapped all the way back like that. but I guess we gotta credit maidana for that as well...dude's timing is top notch. garcia deserves mad praise for what he's done with this guy. but all in all....floyd should take 2-3 more fights and call it a wrap. maidana has been hurt by damn near every guy he's fought and floyd never really stunned him...his speed has declined....his timing....his sharpness. a young hungry bull like thurman gets in there he's not gonna hesitate to go right at him.

I mentioned golovkin at 154 but I don't think there's any way floyd should consider that. I think golovkin would come out on full attack mode and I don't think he'd even have to hit floyd cleanly to hurt him badly. just not a good fight for floyd...and probably not even fair to ask of him at this age. I think if floyd had it his way...he'd fight pac in may. then fight the winner of cotto-canelo in september.....obviously he'd be hoping canelo....cause they can use the angle that canelo was too young before and now he's ready. and if canelo could dominate cotto or even knock him out, it wouldn't be hard to convince people of that.

Still stanning his in ring abilities to the fullest. Seems like he's losing some athleticism and lower body speed. He's gonna have to resort to old man tricks like hopkins. Floyd's right hand lead/sweeping right hand and the check hook jab to the stomach are all top notches punches in boxing. His lead right gets more :ooh: every time you see it

Kinda off topic but has floyd been to the uk after getting out of jail? He always promoted there but i don't think he went there for the maidana fights. I know they are strict about letting people with criminal records in.

I agree with everything you've said; however, I will say that when you rewatch the fight, his timing and speed don't look as diminished as how they looked live. But, like Roy Jones once said, I don't know if you can trust your eyes during a second viewing. It's real strange when you rewatch a fight: your true impressions are overrode by what you think you missed during the first viewing. I mean, my initial impressions were that Floyd looked sharp and that he appeared to be accurate, but also his legs looked rigid. I also thought it was an easy ass fight. The second time I watched the fight, I thought that Maidana looked pretty damn good, and that Floyd's speed isn't as diminished as I originally thought.

He'll retire undefeated, come back for that 50th and lose. I just don't know what people expect from a 37 year old BOXER fighting guys much younger than him and still winning at ease (sans the first Maidana fight). Guys making a big deal of a 18 year veteran slowing down?:what:
Let's act like Floyd is having struggle wins brehs.

. Dangerous fight for Floyd..He would have no choice but to be on his bike all night because I dont think Floyd would have the punching power to keep Porter off of him with the straight jab as effectively as a stronger Kell Brook..

How significant was the Broner win though?? Maidana let the fight drag out a full 12 rounds even with 2 KDs + smelling salts...Thurman would've taken out AB just as easily as Maidana given the opportunity and it would've been stopped early... Only thing Maidana proved was that AB didn't belong at 147..
Thurman has already KO'd two top 15 WWs.. A win over Devnon or Porter for Maidana would've truly garnered a fight with Floyd

Takeaways from the fight.

1. Floyd respected Maidana's punch power from both hands.
2. Floyd gets rattled by stupid shyt from Maidana. I do think that caused some hesitation from Floyd. He didn't know if he was fighting Marcos Maidana or Thunderlips from Rocky.
3. Floyd made it a boring fight like I knew he would. Baldomir 2 was about right.
4. Marcos has a confusing style and Robert Garcia has developed him well.
5. Floyd has slowed but is still ahead of everyone else.
6. Floyd will make it to 49-0 comfortably as long as his jab to the solar plexus and lead right works as it does now.
7. Floyd will never get one shotted and put on his ass with lights out. Great beard behind the defense.
8. He looked bored with boxing or Maidana or both. I'm thinking a bit of both. It is purely a business now to him and his dedication to fitness is what keeps him where he is.
9. For a 37 year old man, Floyd looked fukking amazing. Roach has been calling for Floyd's legs to be gone for 5 years. Not quite yet Freddie.
10. He looked great, but not up to his standards. I don't know if it is the styles makes fights or if its his slowing down. I'm guessing both. He's 1997-1998 Michael Jordan now as far as skills and abilities.
11. Round 2 was a beautiful round from Floyd.

i think he should retire now.

Madaina isn't a great fighter, wobbled Floyd and busted him up pretty bad with those few shots he landed.

Floyd didn't necessarily hurt Mandaina except to the body... not expecting Floyd to k.o. Mandaina but these younger guys are seemingly walking through Floyd's power. So, it's only a matter time...before he gets caught
A. I thinks he needs to make more money to even try to maintain his lifestyle for a reasonable amount of tim
B. If he retires with out finishing his countract after a fight where he didnt look spectacular its gonna look like hes ducking a loss and he dont want that

I have to watch the fight again, besides the shot that landed after bell sounded, it was pretty much basic mayweather stuff, which was amazing because chino was on his ass, and he avoided the onslaught, while delivering punishment

chino improved a lot under garcia, if he would have started with him, his only losses might only be to floyd, but the ariza factor was there, also chino didn't look that confident walking into the ring, he knew he was gonna lose

I think Floyd should retire after his next two fights, those divisions or stacked, I think he could fight to 50 like hopkins, but he would take some L's along the way

he was missing the pull counter too many times, but I think it had more to do with maidana being prepared for it, even still floyd landed it a lot too

his body work was splendid, it was a pleasure to watch, nobody else is gonna give floyd the type of problems maidana will, which wasn't many to begin with

thurman needs to fight kahn or porter

I have a feeling Floyd's next fight will b pac, or Hopkins at 160
His power is already his achelies heel, i cant see him fighting anyone at 160 right now

I feel his opponents coming into the ring at over 160lbs are making his fights predictable and sometimes sloppy. They're too slow to catch Floyd, but too big to get hurt by him.

His best fights come from guys that are closer to his natural weight (ex Hatton, Judah) and they were competitive to an extent.
