Fellas: why do you allow your sisters/mothers/daughtets to weave?

:beli: Marcus. I don't think you understand how time consuming hair can get (well for me). Depending on the style it can take hours to wash, condition/detangle and finally style my hair. There are times where I want to leave the house without having to touch it and a sew-in would allow that.

:wow: I haven't had a weave in a while but I honestly wouldn't mind getting one sometime soon. This ish is getting redic.

:wtf: but you're a half breed

Black women change the texture of their hair when they put in weave. That's the difference. Our hair doesn't look like this naturally:

It'd be one thing if y'all had weaves/extensions that made your hair keep it's natural texture:

With that said, even if it stops, it ain't gonna change shyt. Black women aren't going to automatically become conscious and enlightened just because they no longer perm/straighten their hair.
U never heard of black chicks getting extensions for braids? :comeon:

every black male with a sense of pride should want their women natural. y'all always like to play the "white people do it too card" right? well how many white men could allow their women to walk around with black textured hair glued in their scalp? :leostare:

"Every black male with a sense of pride" does not give a good got damn what the next nicca thinks about his womans' hairstyle if she and he like it.

He also isn't overly concerned with comparing white folks' (or anybody's) home lives to his.

to keep it a 100, i might fukk around and think a girl like that has naturally long hair. :yeshrug:

That's more than likely a weave in her head.

I know that, my point is that weave actually looks like her natural hair. Instead of the straight looking weave most black women wear. The reason we started straightening and relaxing their hair goes right into white supremacy and black inferiority. We wanted to be accepted by whites because we started to believe we were inferior. Both men and women did it.

In 2012 though, they're not doing it for the same reason. It's pretty much just what you do. You granny mom, aunts, and you had a weave. So you'll make sure kids and grand kids have one as well.

Of all the issues facing black female America, weave is so far down the list it's not even worth bringing up.

Of course I have, back in the 90s mad chicks had the Janet Jackson from Poetic Justice braids. But the era is long gone. The majority of black women with weaves and extensions does not keep their natural hair texture.

The whole history of the lye relaxing comes straight out of post slavery black inferiority. Right after slavery, we made Madam CJ Walker one of our first millionaires because we wanted to look more white. The weaves now is just an extension of that time period.

I grew up in a household where the women in my family did not wear a weave so I'm not gonna fukk with a woman that does.Something about it is just a huge turnoff for me.Style what you have, don't try to be something you're not.

That's how I look at it:yeshrug:

Truth be told, most y'all nikkas complaining about women with weave would still be complaining if she had her hair natural. As Garvey said, get the kink out of your mind, not out of your hair.

i do my part :yeshrug: i constantly compliment women with healthy natural hair styles

and i try my best to passively disrespect the hair hat wearers. (i.e staring at their hair when talking to them instead of looking in their eyes)

That's how my house was like exactly. I grew up with 4 sisters and a mother, and they all had their natural hair. If you see the women in your family rocking that natural hair, you're more likely to appreciate black girls at their natural state.
