That and using Hogan in the main event + local territory star (that is now with the WWF) in a marquee match. That formula was vicious and worked like a charm like 95% of the time.

Now they don't have a Hogan. They have an ice cold product and there's nothing like "local territory star" they can snatch away from places, and the internet darlings get sent to NXT so that brand doesn't die a death :dead:

Like a couple of people have said, are the prices comparable?

MSG Knicks tickets are expensive as hell compared to Barclays and the nets.

Just being objective since I watch both products

It’s been two years since they ran a show from their ‘home’ arena. Look around, high prices does not stop anyone from going somewhere they wanna go.

Yeah, that's why I was saying that say whatever you want about the quality of the product, their fans love their product.

WWE stans for years made wrestling fans out to be this insatiable group of people who were never satisfied, but AEW seems to do a job not only satisfying, but empowering their audience. :yeshrug:

I'm not only rooting for them, but they're the only show I actually sit down and watch, even though I think it's mediocre most of the time.:francis:

At this point, I think all of us old heads who grew up on "wrasslin"" are just going to have to admit that the audiences have changed, which is why the product has changed.

Wrasslin' is for nerdy dudes into anime and "Game of Thrones" now, not your average working-class men & women. :francis:

Every other week AEW keeps gaining more and more momentum. I’m not really a huge Stan like that either. But seeing their ratings from last week had me like :whoo: and that was during the NBA FINALS too :ohhh:

Meanwhile Raw keeps breaking records with low ratings every other week. And every week when I’m on Twitter the WWE fans on Twitter keep saying “Ratings don’t matter..”

Knowing DAMN well if the shoe was on the other foot they would be laughing over their grave.

I’m seeing a pattern here and it’s not a good one for Titan Towers :lupe:

At some point, AEW gonna have a show on a Monday night. And i PROMISE you they gonna beat Raw in the ratings.

Now I’m not saying we gonna have a repeat when Bischoff was running things but I’ll tell you this in the words of Mark Twain:

“History doesn’t repeat itself. But it sure does rhyme.”

:sas1:
Putting a show on monday nights to compete with RAW year-round and MNF 4 months out of the year wouldn't make sense from any angle other than Khan getting high on his own supply.

I don't think it ever happens, but if it does it definitely won't be before Vince dies and/or WWE is sold to Disney.

Good observation

When did the tide turn to this current "comic con" audience?

Who ushered it in?

They're not going to have a Monday night show as long as the Khans own the Jaguars.

Also, I said from the beginning, I never want to compete with Monday Night Football. I think they’re the greatest franchise on cable, so I don’t want to do it, plus my family and I own 100 percent of the Jaguars, so we are as big a partner with the NFL as anyone. We have this great cable series and franchise and we don’t want to compete with that, but also it doesn’t make sense for AEW. I don’t want to be on Mondays at all.

The fact that they are doing covid precautions for the garden is the main reason why tickets sales are low.

Either way, they will sell but not as big as they want it to be.

Shhhhhh! you're not supposed to say the quite part out loud

MSG and Barclay's had covid precautions for the playoffs it was loud but not filled to capacity like it normally would be so ticket prices sky rocketed. The Nets started discounting upper level tickets because of the low sales.
