He got caught because he was sloppy not because of TOR

The feds found all his emails and youtube postings from when he was originally trying to hype the site years ago. That's the probable cause they needed.

All in all dude was reckless as fukk doing that Forbes interview because it egged the feds on even AFTER Homeland Security came to his front door and asked him why all these Fake IDs had his photo and name on it....and that was in JULY.
true.. that interview was sooo cocky
especially since he talked constantly about the revolutionary, anarchist aspect of it

He really put that hit on the dude who was trying to snitch :wow:

1600 BTC...that's like $80,000 :damn:
haha I thought I was the only one who gained respect for him after reading that..

doesnt mean that all of the sudden hes this sociopath drug dealer... just that he has the street smarts to realize that what hes doing is bigger then him & his libertarian ideals :ehh:

If you fukk around with a billion dollar black market organization, anything that happens is your own damn fault.

Now the game is so easy, when I was looking for a cd key for a program a few weeks ago i stumbled across a forum and i was like :wow: the game done changed.

:wow:
:ohhh:
I wonder who he got
murdered with his first hit.
:ohhh:
I've messed around with that a little bit.
Haven't been to the "deep web" in months though.
Never messed with drug deals or anything of that sort of course.

^^I was looking for a photo as well. He's supposedly some scrawny/geeky guy who kept to himself.
This is his FB, supposedly: https://www.facebook.com/rossulbricht/

Anyway I read a little bit of the criminal complaint filed against Ulbricht/Dread Pirate whatever his name... :wow:...

Supposedly one of the top vendors on the Silk Road, a guy named "FriendlyChemist" hacked another top vendor who kept records of people he bought/sold drugs from/to over the SR network. This FriendlyChemist guy used all that info in an attempt to extort Dread Pirate, threatening to release the names and addresses of thousands of other vendors/buyers on the Silk Road. Apparently, this FC guy owed a supplier guy $500,000. That supplier was a user known as "redandwhite".

Dread Pirate asked FC to give him redandwhite's contact details to settle it. So Pirate contacts redandwhite and works out a deal: kill FriendlyChemist for $150,000. Pirate supposedly gave redandwhite FC's personal details (name, address, etc). According to the undercover FBI guy, Pirate did infact send redandwhite $150,000 US dollars (1,670 bitcoin dollars), and redandwhite sent Pirate a picture of FC's dead body as proof of the deed.

It also goes on to say that from 2011 to 2013, the SR network generated over a million transactions worth over 9.5 BTC (roughly 1 billion US dollars), $80 million of which was laundered by Pirate himself for his own personal gain.

Here's the criminal complaint: http://www1.icsi.berkeley.edu/~nweaver/UlbrichtCriminalComplaint.pdf

Here's his supposed youtube channel.

It doesn't matter. It's hard as fukk to catch someone on the onion router if they know what they are doing. The only computer that can possibly access your original location is the end server that holds the information you are requesting. And even then, their are ways to get around that. Like others said, dude set the trap for himself long ago, just the fact that he would actually conduct an interview with fukking FORBES shows that his ego had bested him and it was only a matter of time. But anyhow, one goes down another one springs up. Then its cat and mouse all over again until the new mouse starts feeling himself and leave a trail of cheese for the cat to follow.

i noticed this guy was using a lot of free wifi locations like coffee places and libraries, is that really safe?
