At least he didnt run the old school black market. I seem to recall a friend logging on there and seeing everything from guns (fully auto), nades, even components for things that go boom boom.

shyt is real out there :demonic:, but the feds have started to cut down on all the :demonic: shyt going on the deep web it seems. It was a matter of time really though.

Do people seriously think that the federal government DIDN'T already have a bunch of people watching the Deep Web?

They did, but given the nature of TOR catching people is oretty hard. They just seem to have stepped u their rate of enforcement, so to speak.

Make no mistake, the online drug black market is a hydra and Silk Road just happened to be the one head that was spitting the hottest flames. Chop one off and many will just spawn in it's place.

Remember Napster? Went down and WinMX took it's place... then that went down and Limewire took it's place, then Frostwire. Then? People just start making blogs and posting links. If we want to be real, I mean really real, I was in 10th Grade when Napster hit and I remember having to check tracklistings and shyt to make sure I had a complete album. If I wanted to DL Drakes new album right now (not that I would want to :patrice: ) I could have that shyt in like 5 minutes just by Googling the shyt or hopping on a link on YouTube or perusing the profiles of...uh..other message boards :youngsabo:

Who remembers NinjaVideo? That shyt went down and the whole internets butthole clenched up. Where were people gonna stream movies and TV shows from then? Flash forward to 2013...Icefilms, Movie2k, Alluc...the shyt is actually even easier NOW.

You cannot stop the internet. And more importantly, anything that becomes integrated with the Internet becomes 10x more powerful than it was before. The feds need to think about this as they waste billions of dollars on this drug war when they could be making billions of dollars in tax revenues...

He got caught because he was sloppy not because of TOR

The feds found all his emails and youtube postings from when he was originally trying to hype the site years ago. That's the probable cause they needed.

All in all dude was reckless as fukk doing that Forbes interview because it egged the feds on even AFTER Homeland Security came to his front door and asked him why all these Fake IDs had his photo and name on it....and that was in JULY.

Yea dude left footprints early on in it's infancy when he was trying to advertise/promote it. They traced back the early uses of the word "Silk Road" online back to accounts he had on various forums linked to his personal email and LinkedIn where he was asking for the assistance of programmers and trying to promote the network. just sloppy all around

Bitcoin rate dropped to $85 when this news broke, but is back up to $115... :ehh:

I just peeped this whole bust like a hour ago (been in classes all day). Man Im not missing the next freefall

I'm saying...anyone who "invested" in BTC is silly anyways. The shyt is volatile as fukk.

Earlier this year one coin was worth like 75 bucks...over the summer that shyt catapulted to like 140ish

I guess SOME people made bread, like those who traded for a premium on localbitcoins or those who got in earlier this year or last year when shyt was in the 30's and 70's, as well but even then the shyt used to jump up and down over little shyt like new technology for the blockchain computers and shyt.

But if you put a huge chunk of your savings into that shyt....you're silly man...just silly...

FYI...BTC isn't just for Silk Road...some people would convert their BTC to Cash and vice versa in order to gamble outside of the US...

I made some cash taking out a bet on betsofbitcoin on silly shyt...not even some real cash just enough to buy a hoodie or a pair of kicks but profit nonetheless
