The only difference is the household..


The black people who's doing alright out here grew up around these same people..

I don’t agree all the way. I work in finance and my brother sold drugs. Same household. Same parents. My cousin sold drugs, his little brother an engineer. How do you explain it? People make their own decisions. The hood is a regressive environment we’re all exposed to but different people are going to react differently to its influences because we all have our own mind and make our own choices.

I know enough and have seen enough where I can't fully blame her for how her kids turn out. She could have done everything right and the results could have still been the same. In fact, none of us know what lengths within her means did she go to, to try and protect her sons. I mean if I have 3 boys, and the last 2 don't learn after the 1st gets killed then what exactly do y'all magically expect a parent to do or say that will change the course her sons are on.

But that said, i probably wouldn't trust her to raise my kids and expect them to turn out alright. Her record aint all that good, one son is okay maybe he didn't listen, two ok maybe she just unlucky, three means i start wondering if its how they was raised.

There does need to be some accountability on the parent. One, maybe two kids fukking up, ok. It happens. At three, it isn't coincidence, it is a trend. Given her situation, she didn't do what was needed for her kids. For every parent, that threshold is different. I grew up to a single mom in inner city Detroit, that threshold is higher than someone that grew up in Malibu, California just on the merits of not being a part of gangs or on the streets. For her to not be able to illustrate the lessons that fell to the first two to her son is a failure in parenting.

Honestly once I left Chicago I never looked back. I grew up on...by esmond/mae jaemison if you know where that is. 114th homewood and my mom moved out to chicago or calumet heights when i was 16. She did it late so I had to go to some half way school shyt to make up time before i could go to one of the thorns schools. I got in some mess with some cats in the neighborhood and I was bringing shivs to school and bout to head down that path and my mom was like hell naw and shipped me off to Minnesota to live with my dad in some white ass suburbs. I resented it at the time a bit but probs saved my life or freedom.

Chicago the city is a trap period. I would implore any one there who isn't like right outside of downtown or the burbs to get the fukk out. Aint worth the stress.
