...meh what?

Fawlty Towers is classic British comedy but I've a feeling that if you didn't grow up with it, its brilliance is going to be lost on you. Same for stuff like 'Father Ted' and 'Blackadder'.

shyt, how about 'Allo 'Allo with the classic joke repetition. Every week they'd set up the same ten jokes and catchphrases and it's hilarious every time.

True, although I wouldn't put 'Allo 'Allo up there with the god comedies like Monty Python/Blackadder/Fawlty Towers/Only Fools And Horses/Father Ted etc. :blessed:

shyt the first season of Black Books as well. Stone cold classic.

And not comedies, but Inspector Morse and (the 80/90s) Sherlock Holmes are top ten personal classics to me. The former paved the way for stuff like Broadchurch, The Missing etc.

'Allo 'Allo certainly isn't fukking with them in the writing department.

Classic show.

one thing about british shows that I love is they dont get greedy and stretch shows so long they become terrible like ameircan shows.
not true, I would say that show about escaped convicts with powers definitely ran it's course. I mean when the og cast have all left isn't that a tell tale
If bbc made prison break it would have ended in one season and been amazing.
considering the general public have to pay a license fee to the station I think that's the least they can do
