I know.. There are a couple tracks on that album that are inexcusable.

You know what it is, im not gonna front, i think i didnt give the lyrics a chance cause of all the euro sounding beats.

Lupe Fiasco - I Don't Wanna Care Right Now ft. MDMA (Lyrics) - YouTube

Breh on the real, every time i hear this song...i wanna :pacspit: at lupe...he lost me here. 'scust at that chorus

Letting Go
Words I Never Said
Beautiful Lasers
All Black Everything
Never Forget You
I'm Beaming
Shining Down

Those are all great tracks and personally I dont mind Till I Get There either

From top to bottom

Words I never Said
Til I get there
State run radio
Break the chain
All black Everything
Im beaming

* The show goes on was cool

Go back and listen to the lyrics , god. This album's sound deviated somewhat , but the content was still there,

Listen to Break the chain.. Not as complex as some of his other shyt , but hows it any different from what hes saying on FNLII ? Strange fruition ,unforgivable youth etc,

What do ya'll think of Beautiful Lasers...to me its in the very same light as Fighters off of The Cool. It seems personal because he raps with I's and Me's and Figthers was about him and he used I's and Me's...

Now this beat I can f*ck with. But again..that chorus...:huhldup: what happened to him on this album with his hook game... its not possible for ANYONE to like a hook like this one is it?

I wonder how many people are still naive to the process that resulted in lasers sounding how it did.

Man dumb it down was just... Idk the words to explain that sh1t. That chorus used to give me goosebumps for real. And his world play was unreal...
That whole first verse was raw as f/ck.... I'm fearless/now hear this/ I'm earless /and I'm peerless/ which means I'm tearless.... :whoo::mindblown:

Has to be one of the most lyrical and complex songs in hip hop history.

"No neck left to hang a chain with, which makes me necklace less like a necklace theft, and I aint use my headrest yet, they said they need proof like a vest-less chest..."

DAMN

When you look at controversy and contention surrounding this album , and what Lu had to go through just to get it released , its pretty profound. He was definitely in a dark space when he recorded that. I like the song , not a fan of that hook though.

Cold war on FNLII really captures that raw emotion.. Beautiful Lasers kinda failed at that imo.

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zD1U1-2Ubb8#t=93s"]Lupe Fiasco Food & Liquor #1 Intro - YouTube[/ame]

Reminds me of the College Dropout outro when I was waiting for him to spit over that piff

*10 minutes later*

:beli:

*edit*
I'm trippin...yeezy spit over that outro...I just think of the story whenever I hear that beat.

After going through the entire album again and listening to Lupe murder that first verse on Pressure followed by American Terrorist :wow: I must say that FL1 is his best album

you mean how the label forced him?

Lasers had three possibliy more re-recording sessions because of atlantic, the first lasers sessions consisted of
[ame=http://youtu.be/g1zF_f7965Y]Lupe Fiasco - Army Girl - YouTube[/ame]
[ame=http://youtu.be/0OIznCDVMm8]Lupe Fiasco - What U Want (NEW) (Lasers) [CDQ] - YouTube[/ame]
[ame=http://youtu.be/mjTncuE7YTI]Lupe Fiasco - Shining Down - Lyrics Analysis (HD) - YouTube[/ame]
, and a lot of other tracks that will forever be lost. he went back into the studio and redid it completely Atlantic still didn't like it, and decided he should redo it again which was when contract talks came up. Lupe was giving several placement hits such as BOB and Bruno mars song Atlantic didn't like his version of those songs same with "who are you now. he said fukk lasers and started on food and liquor 2 with or without Atlantic permission. so a bunch of legal shyt was going on the fans became uppity him and Atlantic cut a deal he went back in the studio made TSGO dissing Atlantic in the song. after TSGO came never forget you and a couple other tracks that lupe sounds obviously was bored with on the records. songs like states run radio originally had lupe on the hook before(my guess) Atlantic forced there on artist on the hooks.

the original BL when i heard it live sounded so much different than the album version, i think Atlantic flipped the beat same with state run radio which used live percussion as well as lupes own voice for the hook.
