Back on this after Resident Evil didn't resonate with me.
I wish we could holster weapons but I'm having fun. Couldn't tell you what is happening in the campaign though.
Most of my time has been spent taking outposts, climbing towers and free roaming.

Trying to save a civilian from a wild boar attack in a random karma event.
Go to knife the boar and Ajay turns and slices the unarmed civilian, instead.
I sometimes think they muddle simple mechanics just to frustrate you for shyts and giggles.

besides resetting the outposts does this game have good replay value?

im trying not to rush through it but its addictive

IMO, it's a one and done type of thing. Highly doubtful you'll want to play through it again for at least a handful of months.
It's going to be hard to grind through all of it and upgrading your skills again will feel like a chore after you've already done it once.
The sheer amount of content available works for it and against it.
A new game+ would have been nice but after I beat this, I'll probably have no energy or desire to play it anytime soon even though I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Similar to Dragon Age.

I'd say 12-15 hours if you went straight through.
The game has 32 missions IIRC but some are extremely short.
Regardless, if you're just looking at the campaign you're probably better off just renting because the campaign was clearly an after thought by the devs.
Really 'meh' and without doing any side activities, as far as weapons and crafting goes, you'll likely be dramatically ill-equipped to handle the Northern part of the map when it opens up.
It's a war zone and a lot more hostile than the South.
Tougher, better equipped enemies, more aggressive wildlife, ect.
