Just walked out of it. The first hour is really interesting and I really liked. It's all careful and seems very thought out and interesting. I love the relationship between Ben and reed I love that Johnny is rebelling against his dad and how Sue is the golden child yet seems to be very introverted. Even loved the stuff with victor and reed and just seeing them work together while victor is building this rivalry in his head. But once that one year later card hits, it all gets sloppy and unravels and just feels like a different film entirely. It's not nearly as bad as people would have you think but it's obvious there's at least 40 min of movie missing, maybe more. The last hour or hour and a half is just a different movie altogether and that really sucks.

While I agree the first half of the movie is probably the most interesting, you're overrating the hell out of it, breh. It plays it very careful, yes, except it plays way too careful and not nearly thought out at all since it takes them 45 minutes to set up the most basic relationships within the team (you mention Victor creating his rivalry and that's laughable to me because this 'rivalry' is literally him watching Reed and Sue giggle and being jelly as fukk over it), let alone that at the time the mission/accident happens, it's the first time that Ben has any interaction with the other team members, Sue not included. And again, it took them 45 minutes to get to this point. All we got was that Reed likes Sue, Victor is jelly (and oh yeah, like two off-hand comments about how he feels the world is falling apart in the most generic 'message board warrior' way possible), Johnny has literally nothing going on and just Ben feels this big science world is out of his grasp. It's the most basic, undeveloped elementary status of the team's relationship (I really can't emphasize that enough) and that's all that Trank managed to set up in forty-fukking-five minutes. That shyt was in desperate need of a couple of rewrites to tidy things up because it. was. slow. as. shyt.

And lol @ saying it's not nearly as bad as you'd think but "oh, there's like 40 minutes of movie missing and the entire second half is just incredibly sloppy and poorly made". You're letting that trademark level-headedness of yours get to your head McFly because you can't say half a movie doesn't work at all and act like "it's not nearly as bad as people would have you think".

Saw it yesterday...It wasn't terrible, just boring as fukk. Even the gawd Micheal B Jordan who did well imo couldn't save the film. It was just taking too long to tell the story and when the action finally started to pick up, the movie was just about over.
The way they killed Doom had me :martin:.....including the ending on how they come up with the name. Then the credits rolled and I was:dwillhuh::comeon:

My homeboy's step pops spent 30 bucks for us to watch and he was hot.. lol

Ok... I just saw it...

I'm not going to write a paragraph... I'm not even going to devote that much effort to this movie.

In short... this was not a good movie at all

The whole "its not as bad as people think it thing" though?

People think this is epic level god awful death com 7 status.

Well maybe it wasnt Freddy Got Fingered bad.... but was still bad

Say the difference from your bedroom trash can to a New York city dumpster in an alley.

In the end, no matter how you try to justify it, trash is still trash though

Yeah well sadly we'll probably never see it. EW has a good article about what went down behind the scenes and you're right it was just a marriage that didn't work. Joe Carnahan said something interesting tho: if Twitter was around when he was working on mission impossible 3 he wouldn't have a career today. He also said that the people reveling in Trank's defeat had it out for him and the movie from day one and if it was a Chris Nolan movie "they'd be dying to felate it"
Nolan doesn't put out ass, I don't know if that can translate exactly

The problem is that none of these characters outside of Reed had anything going for them. Doom has like two off-hand remarks about how he feels mankind is ruining the earth and that's literally the entire motivation for all of his actions later on. Sue is just there. Outside of those ten seconds showing Ben growing up in a rough family with the abusive brother he has nothing going on, Johnny has the street race scene and then he's just there as well outside of the occasional joke about Doom. None of these actors were giving anything to work with at any point in the movie. It's asinine.

He's just making a point that fanboys want to like certain things and want to dislike certain things before they've seen either. Regardless how I feel about this movie, from what I've seen, he's spot on

Not saying it's perfect breh. I'm not overrating anything. Trust me it's got a lot of issues even in the first half with the interactions and the way sue and reed are with each other but the thing is I have no clue how that would've turned out based on that second half where it seemed like things were set up in the first and then just abandoned or fast forwarded in the second. I just wanted more of what I got for the first hour and wanted to see how that would've turned out. Instead I got two different movies and it's just sloppy and poorly handled. And most of the characters outside of Reed aren't developed well. We agree breh but I stick by what I said that it at least looked like it was going somewhere interesting and it's also possible that those things that seemed to have seeds planted would've gone somewhere but of course we'll never know because it's all thrown to the bushes with the quickness.

The movie is boring. My sister and I had a hard staying awake throughout the movie. We was taking turns to wake each other up. I'm distraught by Fox for giving this movie with terrible writing the green light:heh: Fox needs to throw this franchise into the trash can, because they can't do anything right with Fantastic Four.
