I heard a good place to start is in growing your own herbs. Supposedly they tend to keep longer than say...some vegetables.

i was lucky enough to have a backyard in Brooklyn.
the first thing me and my girl did in spring was plant a garden.
we had lettuce, spinach, peppers, potatoes, squash, strawberries and a whole bunch of herbs and spices.
our backyard was probably 25'x25' and we made the most of it.
smh....anyway, i would put coffee grounds and eggshells into the soil of my garden.
if it comes from the Earf then it should go back to the Earf and then into my tummy.
yea with the rising prices of fruits and veggies, black folks need to get back on their gardening grind. cant speak for yall but it seemed like our grandparents era were all growing their food. when i think back to when i was like 10 yrs old, i vividly remember all my neighbors having greens, tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, etc growing in their back yard. it seems like those skills never translated to the younger generation.
