Women don't need men anymore, so the idea of dating down just to have a man makes no sense. What value is an undateable man to a woman in 2017? I don't really care about what you "bet", only what you can prove. Regardless of what they may or may not "agonize over" it's pretty obvious getting a man is no longer an impediment to a woman starting a family.

But "I would bet" that single moms are no better off with a "man" who is nothing more than another mouth to feed. Now dudes have to demonstrate their worth, as opposed to the past when a woman had no choice but to marry to survive, and it's agony for men unable to do so.
