There's a rack of dudes with clown ass opinions in this thread...
you don't need a man to have kids.
If this is what you got out of the article you missed the pointWomen are either going to have to "date down" and stop trying to get a man with endless options or continue being side chicks/lonely cat ladies
Why this nikka have a whole race track in his head?
Sorry sis, I didn't check the context of the convo, but...
Women don't need men anymore, so the idea of dating down just to have a man makes no sense. What value is an undateable man to a woman in 2017? They are content to have kids without men in their lives (for better or worse) and are able to be financially stable without men. So why date a man if she doesn't want him?
Black American women always worked.
African Americans made substantial gains in industrial employment, particularly in the steel, automobile, shipbuilding, and meatpacking industries. Between 1910 and 1920, the number of blacks employed in industry nearly doubled from 500,000 to 901,000.[22] After the Great Depression, more advances took place after workers in the steel and meatpacking industries organized into labor unions in the 1930s and 1940s, under the interracial Congress of Industrial Organizations (CIO). The unions ended the segregation of many jobs, and African Americans began to advance into more skilled jobs and supervisory positions previously informally reserved for whites.
Between 1940 and 1960, the number of blacks in managerial and administrative occupations doubled, along with the number of blacks in white-collar occupations, while the number of black agricultural workers in 1960 fell to one-fourth of what it was in 1940.[26] Also, between 1936 and 1959, black income relative to white income more than doubled in various skilled trades.[27] Despite discrimination, blacks had higher labor force participation rates than whites in every U.S. Census from 1890 to 1950.[28] As a result of these advancements, the percentage of black families living below the poverty line declined from 87 percent in 1940 to 47 percent by 1960 and to 30 percent by 1970.[29]
Populations increased so rapidly among both African-American migrants and new European immigrants that there were housing shortages in most major cities. With fewer resources, the newer groups were forced to compete for the oldest, most rundown housing. Ethnic groups created territories which they defended against change. Discrimination often restricted African Americans to crowded neighborhoods. The more established populations of cities tended to move to newer housing as it was developing in the outskirts. Mortgage discrimination and redlining in inner city areas limited the newer African-American migrants' ability to determine their own housing, or obtain a fair price. In the long term, the National Housing Act of 1934 contributed to limiting the availability of loans to urban areas, particularly those areas inhabited by African Americans
nikka you made my vodka go down the wrong pipe...I hope Uday Hussein blesses you with the finest camel milk flown in from Iran because you TRULY deserve it What a queen #Importgang we cant lose
I don't really care about what you "bet", only what you can prove. Regardless of what they may or may not "agonize over" it's pretty obvious getting a man is no longer an impediment to a woman starting a family. There is nothing about contentment in the article, breh. In fact, I bet a large portion agonize over not getting the type of man they deem themselves worthy of. Quality marriages improve contentment. Lets not be dumb, women definitely need men to keep the facade of society going and we don't know the outcome of this new model of family structure.
Yep, these are the real forces at hand. All this gender shyt is a distraction. It's pure macroeconomics.Manufacturing jobs paid black men the equivalent of $50,000 to $70,000 during the booming periods of the Great Migration (first and second wave). Black women worked but, black men were bringing home the bacon. For example, my grandpop bought his first house at 21 because he was getting paid so good. My other grandpop had his house paid off cash and bought a second property down the street that was turned into a salon and a barbershop. How many nikkas buying houses at 21 in 2017? But yea....Then those jobs went away, welfare came in, crack, heroin and you know the rest.
If anything it's men who need to keep the facade of society going to placate our egos.

i'm sorry to tell you this but before society........men "placated our egos" by violence against other men, women and children
think structure doesn't benefit women from the terrors of men
But "I would bet" that single moms are no better off with a "man" who is nothing more than another mouth to feed.
