The Falcons aren’t smart either :heh:

The situation locally became untenable to keep playing Kirk, he was that bad. In other words to keep our playoff hopes alive they couldn’t keep playing him, he’s been that bad and looks physically diminished

The way the Falcons have handled this QB situation from the moment they signed Kirk and then drafted Penix is all time franchise malpractice

But unlike Dallas, y'all still have a future

You obviously didn't read the article that OP posted because a lot of my points are literally mentioned in the same article as well :mjlol:
The article doesn’t say there is any interest from other teams. It just says, “they could do this.” And when no serious offers come in, they would have to cut him. :mjlol:

Of course the ATL
@Surreal I get that you’re using the Falcons and Kirk as a commentary on Dallas and Dak but I need you and everyone to understand that the way the Falcons have handled this situation isn’t what smart franchises do. This isn’t a competent franchise who carefully evaluates their team, makes data driven decisions and clearly communicates what they’re going to do

Raheem sounded like Porky the Pig 2 hours before “they” made the decision on Penix. Breh couldn’t give a straight answer about his own QB’s play so please spare me, this isn’t a franchise that should be associated with the words smart, well run, competent, informed, etc

the falcons after a few weeks were thinking "hey this seems like weak South year. we can maybe make the playoffs and make some noise"
we got weapons. just need Kirk to be good
and now might end up cutting breh after 1 year.

they really weighing dropping out and not making the playoff over cutting him and not paying him 10 million

Never once in my comment did I say there was interest from other teams.

What I said is that a team theoretically could take on some of his salary and help ATL out in the process even if it's only a couple of million dollars. That shyt is out of the window now that everyone knows that he's being cut and that he isn't going to do them the solid of waiving his no trade clause.

It's obvious that someone outside of the Falcons organization put this information out there as they don't benefit from this in the slightest and only hurts them in the process.

once they heard that he was hurt, they should have never gave him a 100 million guaranteed. they clearly aint do they homework.

it aint my money.

and they lost a draft pick cause of that shiet
Some of these contracts got me thinking that agents are colluding with teams competitors to come up with fake market values.

It just seems wild that two or more teams would be that stupid at the same time

It was essentially only a two year deal as he was never going to see those last two years.

Where they fukked up at was giving him the no trade clause off the ACL injury as there was always the potential that it would go bad and him not be his previous self again. They screwed themselves in the process.

I thought it was super bizarre to have even signed him to such a ludicrous contract. IIRC was there this huge rush for teams to even sign Kirk Cousins? Especially after drafting Penix. You could have gotten comparable stats from a Teddy Bridgewater or even Ryan Tanehell and it would have cost you a veterans minimum. Hell you could have just started Penix from the beginning.

My comments have only been about that. All the other talk is irrelevant to me because that’s all that matters. At best he could save money when he is released, but the Falcons would still be accountable to that terrible contract and the contract should see the GM fired when they miss the playoffs.
