It's been said that DC didn't get blown up by black people.

nikkas wasn't watching halfed baked like that, but white people and people who liked stoner comedies were.

We can rewrite history and say he didn't blow until killin them softly in which he became embraced by blacks nationally but he has always had a large white audience and they met him in half baked and stayed with him through the shows run.

He definitely ain't the wackest ever.

I'm dying off this picture alone. Faizon sounding like a hater and a liar if he never laughed at a Chappelle skit.

not gonna lie,

Chappelle stand ups, especially post Chappelle Show are overrated. I laugh but it's not fall off my seat funny.

but again, I have different taste maybe

I also think George Carlin stand ups were overrated.

Was gonna say the exact same thing. A lot of black folks have been fakin like Dave has always been a black comedy legend. But he's been around since the early 90s and he wasn't a big part of the black scene like that (Def Jam, Comic View, In Living Color, all those black movies...). He did Robin Hood Men in Tights and used to be a regular on Conan O'Brien so white people had been his main audience and black folks were kinda late to the party... :yeshrug:

I liked Dave's sketch material more than his standup.
I like Carlin and Mooney's standup the best though.

You can post his HBO specials too. He's been doing comedy well before killin them softly and half baked but most blacks Dont know him except for his nutty professor role, half baked and killin them softly is where he exploded for them.

He has always had a meaning and somewhat of a pro-black stance he has more or so been the type of black guy that is a fitting messenger to white people, not tough, no deep threatening voice, speaks well...they love him

I'm sure every black person knows Reggie washington but that didn't make Dave Chappelle a household name.
