People take it outta context. Faith is just the belief of having a better understanding of life and once you get to a point of realization, that anything that you do reflects yourself and those around you, then only can you progress.
faith
/fāTH/
Noun
Complete trust or confidence in someone or something.
Strong belief in God or in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof.
I don't understand why you feel threatened by it. This is all it is. And it ends where critical thought begins.
Or tries to use the clouds or trees as "proof"now we just gotta wait for some ignorant person to come in here and tell us what their pastor said is the real christian definition of faith.
I can't understand the concept of blindessly believing in anything without evidence. And that's all faith is to me.
faith isn't the absence of intelligence but more of the presence of common sense.
-The opposite breh...the opposite.
just because u cannot see something, or because u know nothing of an issue doesn't mean that very thing does not exist.
-True, but you don't accept that it is... in waiting for it to show itself. That would be the opposite of common sense.
many many years ago, before humans discovered each other, you can imagine the look an average white person in those ages would give u if u told him people existed that had a very dark skin. he'd be like nah, get the fucck outta here. thats impossible. likewise, back then, try and imagine the look a black man would have given you had u told him there are nations of people out there in the world who look like albinos with long blonde albino hair. he woulda looked at you strange.
- That's way back then tho. With the tech, knowledge, and proof of the modern age.........brehs annot help but at worshipping the sun.
just because u do not see something doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
Isn't faith blind by definition though?
If you have evidence for the belief, then it's not really "faith" anymore.
nikka it is 2013. mainstream churches don't even teach about hell anymore.
be real the average believer (in whatever) has faith because they are trying to survive their everyday life just like any other person is. faith these bills will get paid, faith a new job will come, faith their sickness will get better, faith that things are shytty now but will get better because of the multitude of things that go unseen, because that massive, unknowable underlying force (what some may call god) has set the universe in perfect order. what's so wrong with that?
That self-righteous, instant gratification mentality this society has now and days is what's wrong with it. Nobody wants to actually work for anything. They'd rather sit on their ass and pray for it. Even if faith in god is real, why the fukk is he gunna take the time out to respond to your problems specifically? Faith your bills are gunna get paid? How bout you DO SOMETHING to pay those bills instead of getting on your needs and putting your hands together.
False.
You have "faith" in something based on its track record.
And this track record is what, exactly? Fantastic events in an old-ass book that haven't been close to being replicated since?
Nope..."fantastic" events in a book that have been (and continue to be) replicated since.
