I'm sure if Social Media was active in my High School days we'da seen the same amount of this... there just weren't many avenues of attention 10-15 years ago like there is now...

A lot of girls I know that were like this in HS matured & grew up to be normal, respectful Women... as there were some that didn't pan out so well...

Blackplanet was like the only Social Media outlet anyone had back then...

So, per your example, this is a "kickin it with the girls" on some 'Waiting to Exhale' ladies night type of fun and anyone who sees it contrarily MAY be objectifying these women and neglecting to see the humanity in the women participating?

I'm nearly certain that sentiment wouldn't be kept if these were 12 year old little girls all over the net built like these "women" doing this.


Long and short of it....It's attention whoring and borderline deviant behavior.

I didnt say definitively what it was because I am not each individual participating in the video and I dont have full knowledge of their motivations. I was explaining oversexualization to someone who seemed confused as to the true definition of the word.

As for 12 year old girls, one would also have to know the context and motivations behind the act instead of assuming. And you have to realize that at the pre-adolescent age is when children are exploring their sexuality. Instead of sexualizing 12 year olds automatically, I am of the belief that we should be educating our children on their sexuality instead of letting them learn from social media, porn and reality tv shows. Lots of times they are also just having fun and they like the attention in general, but they do not always comprehend the sexual attention that they may receive as well.

A grown woman can do what she wants because most times she has full understanding of her actions and how they may be perceived. A 12 year old girl would still be doing the challenge but as adults and parents it is our job to teach and protect her. Because trust, they are going to do it anyway.

Yes, she is liable for her actions.
However, if she knows that being sexually promiscuous will bring her attention, money, or security, those weigh in her decision making as well. Its not all men's fault, but we as men have to admit that if we didn't reward thot behavior with any of the three things mentioned above, it wouldn't be as rampant today. And it works both ways.
