The Bible being filled with allegories and metaphors is a modern concept used to justify the errors people started questioning.
This makes sense.

On another note, I realized that religion was a cornucopia of cap [a cornu-cap-ia, if you will] when I saw kids catching "the holy ghost" in church.

I literally hit the ":skip:" when I saw a 7-year-old do that when I was 11.

Even before that, I figured it was a crock of shít when pastors would ask for donations "for God" or something to that effect. When I asked my mom why God needs money, she told me "the church has bills to pay", to which I asked, "So they lied about that? What else have they been lying about then?"

Wound up losing my Playstation for 2 weeks over that:wow:

The Bible is a psychological book and wasn’t meant to be taken literally
:unimpressed: this is moving goal posts.

It was meant to he taken literally. Then as things slowly were dissected over time for not making sense with advancements in our understanding of the universe it became "metaphorical" and "not meant to be taken literally" to keep faith alive.

And you are right about it being a psychological book. It is a tool used to control the psychology and therefore the actions of its readers. Privy be thee to thy master whose clergy confound to rule you in his name

No it's a fact understood by the original authors and atheist historians alike.

This isn't an opinion.
People took it as literal facts. Most of it was spoken to a crowd because people were illiterate.

If you feel the Bible is filled with allegories and metaphors then why would you put any stock into what it says? Even removing the supernatural stuff you are still left with spotty historical stories that makes zero sense as to why someone would want to base their faith on
