I believe in God or a higher power. I DO NOT believe the bible is anything more than inspiration and literature. I will never debate my beliefs either, which is where many religious folks fall short. Reason being: You can't prove any of that stuff.

You make yourself look crazy and your religion look arrogant by proclaiming stuff there's no proof or evidence of.
Faith (if you are a believer) should be personal.

But to get around all the proselytizing and deflections coli brehs there's a very simple technique.
Whenever I see someone use that word I immediately can tell they've done some research and may actually know wtf they are talking about. Like most Christians don't even realize how proselytizing their religion is.

This isn't as smart as it sounds tho. The key language in his statement comes from "I believed that everything that happened in the bible was real and not a metaphor or parable"

I dont think it debunks christianity, because most christians already know the bible to be both real and metaphorical. Even within the first book its like God created the heavens and earth or universe is 6 days and rested on day 7.

That alone should be dummy proof to question, what is a day? Is god's day 24 hrs like ours is? Could a day be dozens of thousands of years?

How do you translate ideas we cant even perceive into written language.
It's not unheard of people taking the Bible literally. I don't know how you would even decide what to believe or not.

True Christians and israelites take the Bible or Torah literal. Alotta them in a discussion will shucklebuck about they know it's not literal but they're being contradictory. It's supposed to be the word of God.

This. What's the point of the holy books if you don't think it is the word of god
