Pardon Me is the most raw and human we’ve heard from Evidence. I fukk with it, a few shades of Navy Blue.. Looking real forward to this project, this may be his best project judging from this track alone. Fits right in with the Unlearning single. This shyt is a vibe.
No doubt. He’s definitely been influenced by him recently.

Not sure if you saw the tracklist, but Navy is one of the only 4 features too. Him, Fly Anakin, Boldy, and Conway.

He did a dope beat for Navy too.

Is this an Alch album or Boldy album?
It's a new Evidence album. It drops June 25th. It’s called Unlearning Volume 1. The features are minimal compared to his earlier albums: Boldy James, Conway, Navy Blue, and Fly Anakin. The production is from Evidence, Alchemist, Daringer, Nottz, Khrysis, Sebb, V Don, Animoss, and Graymatter.

The album is a part 1 of 2, and Volume 2 might drop later this year or (more likely) next year. Ev is moving away from the Weather themed projects and is trying something new. No Dilated song or Step Bros song on here. Etc. He's trying to step out of his comfort zone.

Edit: @Piff Perkins i see what you mean with my thread title. I fixed it.

Edit 2: but there is a new Boldy and Alchemist album dropping this year—probably in Q3 or Q4.

3 singles in, already convinced this is his best project, and seeing more on why it was important to get away from the weather theme. Weather or Not didn’t have the sequencing to have a good flow to it, to points made before, it felt like a bunch of random bits and pieces thrown into a playlist. This one feels like a well considered, focused album. The raps are cutting through sharp, and the beats are all working well together, doesn’t feel immediately identifiable by producer. Ev has stepped his shyt up on production, this shyt is hard. 3 more weeks til the drop, but the record is sounding liberated and fresh as fukk. Wouldn’t be mad at a Navy Blue, MIKE, Boldy James, Evidence tour announcement…

Largely slept on.

Good post.

Apologies if I said this here already, but I don’t think Ev likes Weather or Not that much. Songs were compiled over a 5-6 year time span and I remember him saying it felt hard to make a cohesive track sequence, because there was never an extended creative time set aside for making an album during those years.

Right before Weather or Not dropped, Ev said that it sounded like “a greatest hits album of songs no one had heard yet.”

I do like a lot of songs on there. But it’s his least cohesive work by far.

The album dropped already?
One week from today.

On the podcast they said they got an advance copy, but they said they included it even though it’s not out yet, just because we’re only one week out from the release date.

Both guys on the podcast have it tied as their AOTY so far. The first guy said there’s no skips and it’s a perfect album to ride solo in the car with. He said it was clearly made during the pandemic, and they both give it high praise.

These beats are stunning but I can't get into him as a rapper, he just sounds so lethargic...let me know when the instrumental version drops
