It wasn’t jsut Steph.. ppl give him too much credit. Klay and Draymond and evening Kerr deserve a lot of credit. Contrary to popular belief mark Jackson probably doesn’t get them to the promise land. And klay is just as important and Steph.
It was KD that threw off the balanced. If Kd stays with okc, Kd and west would have probably have a ring and so would harden and cp3 or the spurs get another ring with kawhi.
I wouldn’t be surprise if bron still only has 3 rings if Kd stays in okc. Dude was growing more dependent on his teammates as the years go by.
The hypotheticals are always tough to answer because the "what ifs" never end. General consensus is Cavs win in '15 if Kyrie (without a doubt if both Kyrie and Love) is healthy, so in that case there possibly isn't a Warriors dynasty is Kyrie doesn't break his kneecap...
General consensus is if LeBron even played to half his potential in '11, he has another chip...
So my only issue with this video is there are at minimum two what ifs that Bron would have 4-5 rings by the time the 73-win Warriors even happened...
I hate hypotheticals, but given the fact Bron was 1-1 vs Warriors when KD got there, we're really only asking for three years (2016-2019) how many chips Bron would have won otherwise. I say one, he woulda got complacent and lackadaisical like we saw his first year in LA, he wasn't sweeping the next three Finals. But he'd be sitting at 4 for sure, outside chance at 5 if KD doesn't go to Golden State...
One of those chips was always gonna go to some unsuspecting team no one saw coming like the '19 Raptors, and the other one woulda went between the Thunder, Spurs, or Warriors or Cavs winning a second chip...
Nah KD going to G State fukked up Bron’s legacy. He mentally owned Steph and them and probably would have beat them twice more assuming Kyrie stays following a repeat.
KD ruined the league for 2 years and is even less respected to show for it.
I don't think KD ruined The League, he enhanced his own legacy while forcing people to put him more into the conversation with Bron, and in many cases above him. This doesn't happen if he stays in OKC. Genius because him and his team knew if he won in GS that would happen...
Steph has enhanced KD's legacy more than anything. KD is higher on the All-Time list for sure, but Steph beat KD to a chip, beat him head to head en route to almost another one in '16, and was the central figure of the dynasty. In real time, while everybody respected KD's game and to many he was the 2nd best player alive (some said 3rd after Steph), virtually nobody put him as equal to LeBron before he went to GS. Bron had 3 rings to his 0, Bron had beat him H2H in a Finals and dominated their regular seasons vs each other...
Steph put him over the top but I don't think KD ruined the game...
Let's be real: if LeBron had 7 rings, I highly doubt that most Jordan believers would give him #1 GOAT status.
This is cold hard truth. I've said many times on here, this nutty board has a disproportionate, overabundance of Kobe Stans and a weird under representation of Mike Stans....and in real life Kobe Stans are not insufferable the way they are on here, we just seem to have a large congregation of some of the worst on The Coli lol...but Mike Stans are the worst Stans of any American athlete, in real life off the internet...
Guys that are bonafide diehard Mike riders are convinced there's nothing LeBron could do to equal Jordan; Jordan Stans don't really allow the possibility that anybody was ever better than Mike, whether before or after him. Trust me, I've had those debates lmao...
