I've said this when the trade happened.

Reports were out there that they reached out to 15 teams on a Zach deal and nothing happened. Fit wise, Giddey makes more sense with Zach than DeMar. If anything, they could revisit dealing LaVine later since he's coming back from injury and most of the league isn't desperate enough to trade for him now.

That could change by the deadline

4 for $80 is a little much but still might give you positive ROI.

Might as well let him reach RFA status
It's been a trend lately with this team.

I will say this... They have typically found a way to suppress whoever's extension eligible or heading into RFA value quite a bit. It happened to Lauri, it happened to Coby, it happened to Ayo, I wouldn't say it happened with Pat... He's just been mid, inconsistent and hurt.

It would be fascinating to watch and see how this regime would try and do the same with Giddey without DeMar or Zach on the team tho
