this playboi carti discussion proves again how ak can't explain his viewpoints unless someone from the internet explains it for him.

joe out of touch so he is not qualified to talk about carti.

carti was huge underground before magnolia.

broke boi, fetti, sauce, beef, talk, what.

he had one of the most anticipated mixtapes before it dropped. that had nothing to do with the label.

magnolia just launched him into more mainstream popularity

yeah but underground is not 'casual listeners'. when they were talking about 'star' joe and ak prolly have much different parameters.

i think joe was just trying to say, star is a certain level, and akademiks might be calling carti one prematurely

i dunno myself, i like the beat for magnolia, but every time i hear a carti song i wonder why hes even on it cuz its 75% adlib

that said, per their topic, and your knowledge of cartis music, do you think hes on the clock?

i was mainly talking about the way joe worded it to say the label made carti hot when the people decided carti was hot before magnolia. but to answer your question, i don't really see a future for carti.

he'll be hot for right now but how long can you really last with such little talent, and what happens when your fans actually grow out of that aesthetic and mature?

interesting to hear RHQ and Budden breaking down artist dissapearing....i definitley had the perspective RHQ mustve lost it,but some of that is his fault for dropping so much then going missing.

i wonder if he'll be able to grab the people again, rap fans are super fickle

I think this interview definitley helped him,I'm interested in hearing from him again now.

if he does everything he said I think he can make a comeback to where he was,not as if he was THAT nikka when he left, but he had a nice following.

might not want to oversaturate though and drop duds before the album,Im more interested in the album he says will sound more musical, and that he's taking his time on....im ready to hear something that sounds differnt than anything he's dropped so far,he might water that desire down if he drops rushed mixtape duds beforehand.

speaking of tuscan leather in the episode the other day, is it fair to say joe bit the idea for the intro to the rage and the machine album?
