A Star means they have huge appeal and are popular. Think Frank Ocean when he first came out or the Weekend. The both of them now are superstars but they were stars when House Of Balllons came out and Nostalgia Ultra because they were so popular and immediately impacted the music scene.
Quavo and The Migos as a group are stars, maybe even superstars at this point or are on the cusp of becoming superstars. Schoolboy Q and Asap Rocky are stars, while Kendrick is a superstar. It's not hard to figure out bro.
Star means you are popular and impact the culture due to the music you make, superstars mean you were able to sustain that and became a legacy act that if you never made a hit again you still are important to hiphop. Megastars are like Michael Jackson, Jay-Z, Beyonce, Tupac and those so popular you pretty much will have to be lucky to even die and be as popular as them, and most won't ever be.
At least that's my analysis of the situation. A lot of these mumble nikkas are not stars cause they music sucks and they will fade. Even young thug though he is a star has yet to rise to superstar status imo.

I listened to that Playboy Carti Tape and tbh it's better then I thought it would be but nothing too special. You heard one song and you heard them all by him lol. Yeah, wha-wha-wha, blahh blah, wha-wha, uh. It's either wha or ooh lol. It's the same ol formula damn near with no real content. Only way he becomes a star is if like Rocky he gets lucky and catches a huge buzz mostly off his swag but even Rocky a better rapper then him.
Also he better thank god for that Other shyt beat every nigh, that shyt is a banger and though he ain't say much on it that shyt is a bomber for real. I'll admit that one but his mixtape is not better then Birds In The Trap.

When I stopped fighting these new nikkas wave and decided to sit and digest what they doing with the music...I started appreciating it more.
For the most part...I think I get turned off to who these little nikkas project them self to be as people... What they stand for...All that shyt you really nail down when you mature.
