Everybody Hates Chris is at worst Top 5 sitcom of all time/Top 15 television show of all time. Its neck and neck with A Different World for the greatest black sitcom of all time (Cosby is a close 3rd, Fresh Prince is 4, Good Times is 5). Martin was hella corny and relied too heavily on black stereotypes with surface level comedic value and no substance. And Martin tried way too hard. shyt aint age well at all. Your age is important to take your opinion seriously. I don’t know many adults who regularly watched everybody hates Chris. The fact that the shows are over a decade apart, why are you comparing the two?

Everybody hates Chris is a better written show than Martin. But Martin isn’t corny or a c00n show. There aren’t many black sitcoms with a young childfree long term black relationship being the central focus of the show. Martin was a very refreshing sitcom in that aspect.

The comedy may have been over the top, but as a 29 year old man childfree man, Martin is the black sitcom I relate to the most.

Yeah, I didn't really see the appeal of Martin as much as a kid; it's funny but I related more to the family sitcoms like Fresh Prince or EHC since I was still in school. At 31 Martin is FAR more relatable.

How is Martin more relatable than a show based on an environment riddled with social injustices?? This proves Martin has no depth or value other than whats on the surface. Yall look at Everybody Hates Chris and see a the main character who's a young boy, when there's much more to the show than that.

I love both but I’m leaning towards Everybody hates Chris. EHC was consistent from beginning to end.
Fell off towards the end when they was filming separately and had to edit everything in. shyt was awkward and lame
