The US has a governmental interest in keeping Cuba as far away from normal operations as possible. The expansion of the Chinese and also their relationship with Russia are still threats to the American government. The Cubans are notorious for dirty politics and the US has no interest in helping them at the risk of losing control or inviting the enemy anywhere near the Caribbean.

It's 2024 they dont put sanctions on every country that's adverse against them, it's one small island... first they blamed castro now it's because of the russian and chinese interference why didnt they make inroads with cuba when castro died to make them an ally if that was the main reason. it's sounds like a bunch of bullshyt...you want allies you gotta play nice. you only make yourself look like a$$holes because that's how brics was born in opposition to you...

It's some "if I can't have you, no one can" shyt. Obama tried, but then Trump clawed that back and Biden was already 20 while the cuban missile crisis was popping off. He has that cold war mindset still in his spirit so it's a big deal to him that Cuba stays an opp unless they give up on their government and bust it open for American companies to come in and take over their resources again.

America doesn't care if you're a dictator, as long as you're privatizing shyt and letting our companies get the best price on everything your country has. Cubas industries are still very much nationalized and controlled by the government. America won't let that shyt fly unless they have a huge market and private services.

Notice how now China is the bad guy after they graduated from only making cheap shyt for America and using their kids as cheap labor. Now that China has the capacity to compete they're a threat that needs to be humbled through tarrifs and bans.

She definitely won't. Her electoral strategy has consisted of trying to get republican support and Republicans need to know their tax dollars are going to torturing brown and black people. She doesn't want maga Republicans to come back so the plan is essentially to just be a "compassionate conservative".

I get it, but I don't like it. America needs a truly left wing party but we're stuck between choosing conservatives and literal fascists. If magaism continues to lose both federally and at the state and municipal level, then Republicans will have to do what the democrats did when they kept losing in the 70s and 80s: copy their opposition.

Republicans will have to move further to the center if democrats keep winning and if they do, then that will force democrats to move further to the left. A mirror of what happened with Republicans going from conservatives to blatant white supremacists.
