Read it twice. My first time was in college and we had a round table discussion about some of the topics (mainly the guys) and boy was it interesting

Unfortunately I have met some brothers who haven't. Some barely even know who he is. When I used to do mentoring/big brother program I was shocked when one of the brothers I was mentoring told me he didn't know who Malcom was. I thought he was joking or fukking with me but he was dead serious. I ended up giving him my copy of the book.

I've never read it, and I'm not saying that as something to be proud of, but reading or not reading a book shouldn't judge your how to put this "blackness".

I'm quite sure their are many black folks who haven't seen all the installments of Alex Haley's "Roots", but that doesn't make me look down upon them.

I read it in my tenth grade English class and I liked it (also saw the movie) but I think at the time, I didn't fully understand or appreciate everything he was saying. I should read it again to get an even better experience.

Never read that book, breh. To be honest, it just wasn't even on my radar growing up. Family isn't the "rock the boat" types and weren't fans of Malcolm X.

On the flipside, I don't believe there is a large number of older millennial black men that have actually read the book. Prolly one out of every ten. But great way to put it on our radars. Gonna pick it up.

Never read it so what? If you are saying people should read it that’s one thing but you make it seem like there is a small percentage of people in the world who hasn’t that’s not true nor are you better or smarter or whatever you are implying here because you have read it

Its funny u say this cuz for all the fake pro Black talk I see on Shea Butter Twitter and The Coli...Malcolm X is actually the standard that has to be met in order to be taken serious yet these fake pro Blacks never meet that standard.


Example....Malcolm said that alcohol is the whitemans poison and we shouldn't drink it....yet you'll have these fake pro Blacks talking that white supremacy shyt while drinking the whitemans poison on occasion.

The same with smoking weed....Malcolm broke that shyt down as to why we shouldnt smoke it.....But these same fake pro Blacks will ignore Malcolms words and get they smoke on.

i remember what stuck out to me the most was what happened to his father, and how hopeless his mother must have felt in that situation

it made me think about how many times shyt like that has happened in the history of this country, which is truly horrific
