My reverence for Malcolm came from reading his autobiography and secondly listening to his speeches. The movie doesn't give you a full grasp of what Malcolm was as a man and leader so it is best to read the autobiography to have a better understanding as to how Malcolm became who he was from his own words and why he's held in high regard.

I read it when I was 17. I forget what I wrote in class, but it was basically shytting on white folks, and my white English teacher actually bought me the book as a gift after that. I was pretty shocked. She also let me take and keep whatever books I wanted that were collecting dust on the shelves.

But, yea, I know plenty of dudes who never read it. The amount of times i see people throw around the phrase "fake militant" on here, I'm sure there are plenty of people on this site who've never read it as well.

Watched the movie as a child. And read the book as a teenager. One of my favorite nonfiction books.

:yeshrug: it's like a billion "Christians" that never read the bible so:mjlol:

But it was more than just a book/ really was like a conversation.

I always say things find people at the right time/ and when they are most apt to accept them/ or gain some wisdom from it.

Universal knowledge/ Consciousness to me is like the Lottery:leostare:

Everybody is chipping in just a little, and if you observe/ keep open mind/ develop interest in others faiths/ beliefs even mistakes....

You can potentially win big dividends in your own personal life what you reap from others:manny::sas2:

Reelblack channel on youtube has the full version of this up, for those who want to listen to the (abridged) audiobook version of the book. It's a little over 4 hours

I'm a collector, so I respect that channel being able to uncover and share all the rare stuff. They basically made most of my personal collection worthless, but it's all good.
I still like to find rare items in real life.
