Did you hire a tour guide? How does that whole thing work? It's not like they have hotels there right? They probably do. It can't be just all campers...
I was there in early spring of 2019 and it was breathtaking.
I put it right up there with Big Sur in Cali, it's the kind of beauty that makes you feel very small.
That may sound corny but that's the only way I can describe it.
Anyway, like the ALL CAPS GAWD @MR. SNIFLES said; I got pics but it won't do it true justice so I picked out these ones.
Me and my lady were just walking along the edge of the canyon, maybe 10 feet away when everyone started bugging.
She told me to look behind me and bam! This big fukker is just chilling next to me giving me the head nod so I snapped some pics and a vid.
Then I realized that there was another one on the sidewalk but they just kept it moving.
Btw, one crazy thing about Grand Canyon park is that there are ZERO rails keeping you from just walking off the cliff anywhere you want.
I'm used to NYS parks where they got rails and fences and guards just about everywhere. I saw some people doing shyt on the edge that had me like
And I'm an adventurous cat but I've lived long enough to know not to temp fate like that
this shyt had me like i can literally see the strata.
btw, we drove from Phoenix the the Grand Canyon and hit some places up in between. |
spending my entire life in the green North East left me completely unprepared for the desolate beauty of the West and it hits hard.
Real talk tho the Southwest is an amazing place. I’m obsessed with the desert and spend a lot of time there. I’ve been to Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Arches National park, Zion, Death Valley, Sequoia National Park, Horseshoe Bend, Antelope Canyon and even camped out at Monument Valley.
