He does lead him, not sure exactly what you’re seeing here. Alshon goes out of bounds on his own. Between this, Goedert dropping that sideline pass in Week 1, JJAW in Week 3, Agholor… just whenever, Mack Hollins failing to make a play on a potential TD that Wentz threw to him against the Vikings, Ertz dropping a 1st down later in that same game, etc. it’s being demonstrated that none of these receivers are making plays unless Wentz throws the ball perfectly (which will never happen 100% of the time in a game, for any QB). And even then, they are one of the worst receiving units in the NFL in terms of YPC. You gonna tell me that’s Wentz’s fault too?I see something completely different on that play . why didn't he lead him up the sideline . that's my exact problem right there .
PFF had mahomes a couple weeks ago ranked below DAK
Bru these same WRs are sayin they balled under Foles.matter of fact this is how the offense looked before Foles came in last year too.
I think Wentz has played ok but we talkin bout makin the offense more consistent and reliable . Wentz along with others gotta play better.
I mentioned PFF to show how other people are watching the tape and coming to the same conclusions, not to present them as the end-all, be-all to the discussion. You can find several other examples (Baldy’s Breakdowns, BGN, etc.). You can also just watch the games and realize that Wentz has often been the only reason the Eagles are even in these games to begin with. Point is, we’re not the only people who see this.
Wentz has been doing just about everything you can reasonably ask of him – his Time-to-Throw is much improved from last year (even though you keep saying he holds onto the ball too much), he’s done a remarkable job with ball security (also improved from last season), and he’s been converting on 3rd Down and in the Redzone, two areas where the Eagles – contrary to what you said – have consistently been near the top of the league, again, a huge ass improvement from 2018. This with receivers who are incapable of making plays on their own, and a defense that cannot stop the pass.
No one is saying Wentz has been perfect, but I can’t sit here and think of any other QB who’s being asked to do more with less help from anyone on offense or defense.
And finally – these receivers did not ball out under Foles. The offense had one spectacular game against the Texans last season. The defense tightening up had more to do with the team’s turnaround (e.g. two of the TDs in the Rams game came after defensive turnovers) than anything else. When it’s up to Foles to carry the offense, you get the Falcons, Bucs, Bears, and Saints games, which were no better than anything the Wentz-led offense did that year.
