Yup, if I'm.out there and I'm skilled I want a goon out there

If it wasn't for semenko

Dont need goons if the league officiated properly....The goonery in hockey is why it never got taken seriously as a league.

90% of hockey goons cannot throw a decent right hand to save there damn lives anyway....its all grabbing and holding as to avoid getting hit by one.

Kane,Nurse and Simmonds are not goons :stopitslime:

Brashear was a damn goon...

How does fighting prevent dirty plays ? Dirty shyt happens despite fighting,if you want to curb people using there sticks get some referees and some front office people with some balls to officiate the game according to the rule book...Your argument doesnt make sense from the sheer standpoint the league itself is slowly eliminating fighting from the sport,so clearly the league front office dont agree you need fighting to keep the other stuff out the game...

There have been countless times where forwards are slashing or spraying ice at the opposing goalie, until someone steps to them and gives them a stiff shot to the face or bodies them (nh). Self-regulation is CORE to the sport of hockey. That's also why you don't see these hockey players wait to go into the locker room and tweet post-game subliminals at each other like these NFL and NBA cats.

Also like people said above, it's a KNOWN way to change the momentum for your team. You don't really follow the game if you haven't seen a team get fired up after being down 3-1 and go on and win.

And the reason the league is fading it out is because of the enforcers having more mood disorders than the rest. Which they're prematurely linking to CTE. That's potentially a bad look for the league from a financial standpoint. Not because fighting is useless.

Kane's dad is a boxer, you gotta be a moron to step up toe to toe with him and not expect an ass kicking.

The Goons already a dying position in sports. Penalties and punishments are used to control players actions in every sport but white hockey players are allowed to police themselves with violence. We can expect NFL players to play the most violent sport in the world without fighting but hockey players. You have to be white, I hate people who make all these excuses, just say you like violence and keep it moving. You can go hang on using tradition with the rest of the baseball CACS. I don't give a fukk if they have fighting or not in hockey but don't feed us bullshyt of tradition to cover up for the double standard.

Not necessarily. Fans love hockey fights regardless of the race involved.

Anyways, fighting is slowly being phased out due to the league becoming more corporate and because a lot of goons traditionally are terrible skaters and have no other skillset to add to a team. These days you cant have guys like that taking up a roster spot. The league is only really going to take a stance on it when a star gets hurt. McDavid dropped the gloves and got hurt doing it in his AHL days IIRC. I highly doubt he'd fight in the show though.

Ol Pete would have been better off doing some MMA or boxing training, seeing that boy trying to get up the ice on knives i knew he wasnt gon last long...

Miss me with that garbage

You want some advanced analytics for the importance of intimidating the other team?

There's something called emotion that gets your team hyped up
