He stay getting cacs soooooo furious. Been having a down year but he's one of the leagues few power fowards who can hit, score goals and fight anyone.

Believe it or not, there is a reasoning and strategy for why players fight in hockey. Not everyone does.
One good fight can fire a team up and turn the whole momentum of a game around.
Stop it...Youre not allowed to basically hit anymore in the sport because of fear of concussions but ur allowed to hit someone with bare knuckles to the face....hockey people logic is the worst thing about the damn sport.

You don't have to fight. No one forces you to. Players do it because they want to and it's well within the rules and has been almost 100 years. I don't see what edge a Baseball or Basketball player would get from fighting, they ain't in physical sports like that. Football maybe but those dudes are monsters and would probably kill each other.

It dont matter if i played or not its illogical to thnk its necessary in hockey but not in football...It dont matter if its been around for 100 years,for 100 years the powers that be running the sport were idiots....
Its not needed....and it serves no purpose,the notion that hockey players police themselves is ludicrous.

Okay, that's your opinion. I strongly disagree
Sports are entertainment and most hockey fans don't mind it. Football has way more vicious hits, hell, look at the face mask that Aqil Talib did to save the touchdown and he almost ripped off the WRs head off, could have broke his neck very easily but it was seen as a smart play. Dirty but it's still part of the game.
Reason I ask if you've played is cause you've probably never been chirped called a ****** or black face, slashed, hit from behind, seen your star/best player get targeted, etc. Those reasons were enough for me to drop the mitts. The refs don't see/ call everything and with emotions running high a very physical sport, sometimes fighting is the best way to settle these situations once and for all in the game. Is it essential and needed? No but it's still apart of the game and it does serve a purpose.
