I thought dude was a young and upcoming writer a few years ago?? Or maybe I have him confused with someone else. But he looks very middle-aged now. :picard:

Yeah, I was shocked to see he's already 47. Must have made his break later in life than I thought and had a young face at the time.

KOC signed with Yahoo Sports
I would be very surprised if Simmons doesn't pick Lowe up, he's excellent
Lowe Post must go on
One of the best NBA podcasts
Nice :obama: I was never a fan of KOC. He was the most listenable in some pods with Vernon because he would clown him constantly for his dumb takes :heh: glad other people gonna take over basketball content at The Ringer.

Supposedly ESPN isn't exactly going after Shams either. The Woj / Shams beef runs deep. :russ:

ESPN is turning into trash reality tv. Journalistic integrity no longer exists on that channel. It’s all about being a personality and entertaining viewers for the time slots they’re positioned in. The viewers are in it for the hot takes.

They’re appealing to the casual of casuals that wake up in the morning. Then they look at the giant headline, hears SAS yelling and spitting all over his notes in the morning. Then they laugh at Pat Mcafee jumping up and down like a complete moron in the afternoon. He acts like a frat boy at Goober St University or somewhere stupid.

Then they regurgitate the same points to their co-workers in the office that have a fanstasy football league with a pot luck of money crammed into a jar for the fukking winner.

They'll probably give Richard Jefferson's sassy ass a podcast now with Doris :scust:

That should be an Amazon/NBC battle. He’ll get more visibility on NBC I think, but that Amazon money is deep.

Another talent that they overpaid years ago as they didn't want them to go elsewhere and are now using as a reason to let go. A major shocker though even more than RGIII being let go. In hindsight, both he and Jalen should have dipped out to The Ringer when they had the chance to do so.

How much clout does Simmons still have at Spotify and The Ringer with even he being a FA next year?

Bill is an executive at Spotify. He can bring in whoever he wants to bring in.

He was one of the last remaining Grantland people, right…

Basically it seems like if you aren’t a TV entertainer type, ESPN won’t be able to pay you.
