Webber was better than Dirk before the injury, and most people saw it that way. The whole perception of Dirk changed immensely after he won that title. I don't think winning a title ever did more to enhance one player's legacy, with the possible exception of Hakeem Olajuwon.
Hellll no, Webber wasn't close to Nowitzki. The perception of Dirk changing so dramatically is b/c people weren't paying attention to how damn good the dude was BEFORE 2011. It's really dumb how much a title/FMVP change how people view a player.

People love that "2011 changed how people saw Dirk" excuse. But folks that watch Dirk know that he plays his best in the playoffs sans 07. His 2011 playoffs numbers aren't different from any other year. But folks wanna keep acting like 2011 is the first time Dirk balled in the playoffs.

is the center list out yet?

and are these just nba lists?

cuz i dont see any mentions of connie hawkins. i forgot to add him in my initial list myself. edited to #7.

edit: i just peeped @Art Barr's post about hawkins. props. beat me to it.

Do yall frel like webber is a hall of famer?? I mean its close but not certain, everyone on that list is definitely in or going. Webber not in they class

webber is a lock for hall of fame. its just a matter of when.

theres no nba hall of fame. so even if youre on the fence concerning his nba career, it doesnt matter.

Sheed should have been on this list. Had the talent. Just lacked the consistency and gene to be great/dominant. Played too many head games with the refs, too.

:salute:

f Dirk hadn't won the ring. Then again he really showed out in the championship run and beat an alltime great team basically by himself.

:dahell:

that dallas mavericks squad was the deepest team of this decade. they had dudes who mightve been on injured reserve that year that have started games for teams recently. and best of all, they were big down low, which has always been the achilles heel for miami, ESPECIALLY that 1st year where they were not an all-time team like youre claiming.

the idea that dirk won that ring by himself is the product of media cism.

and jason terry was the x-factor of that series, especially in the crunch.

Dirk ain't better than Garnett Barkley or c web come on eventually we have to call them juicing up these white players just for the sake of being white

this.

every white player thats top 10 caliber at their positions got bumped up 2 or 3 spots.

and white players on the fence like pau gasol - who isnt top 10 but is good enough for a name-drop, got bumped into the top 10 anyway, just off gp.

Niccas forget that Barkley was putting in work in the post as 6'5 PF :damn: If he won a ring he wouldve been the #1

yea.

pound-for-pound, barkley is the best PF.

Agreed. While Webber's getting overrated like crazy in this thread hardly any mention of Shawn Kemp(who was the better player)

shawn kemp & sheed wallace are my favorite PFs,

i think kemp isnt being mentioned because his falloff was worse than webber's, and worst of all, kemp didnt have an injury to show for it.

Dirks lone mvp season was lost in a first round playoff exit as a 1 seed :mjlol:

to a midget squad at that.

There is no way a credible list would have c00n barkley over KG. No fukking way. Barkley went to houston and destroyed that team with his garbage fat ass. KG never been toxic to his team and just like the real legends he stayed in shape while Barkley was :camby: at the age of 36 while the rest legends like Dirk, TD and KG actually even making it to the all star game.

fukk this list nikka

just because they made the all-star game at 36, doesnt mean they deserved to be there.

aside from magic johnson, i cant think of any all-star selections that were treated like lifetime achievement awards back in he day.

duncan & dirk done had numerous bullchit selections. KG prolly did too. meanwhile, dudes like demarcus cousins still havnt played in the all-star game.
