they were so shook of CBS Sportsnetwork, NBC Sportsnetwork, and Fox Sports network taking NBA, NFL, and college rights that they overbid to keep the programming.

:yeshrug:

Plus ESPN are hoards and don't want to share shyt in the Disney model.

Years ago before ESPN was bought out by disney they shared games with other networks with no problem.

Case in point Sunday Night Football was on ESPN and TNT. TNT would get the first 8 games and ESPN would get the last 8 games.

ESPN under disney has just gotten too big and too greedy. Just look at college football and how all the games are on ESPN. They won't even play that shyt on ABC which is stupid. You need network tv to get the advertisment dollars from the corporations.

I need to get into consultating and see if I can get in on this action. ESPN isn't irredeemable; it just needs to downside and focus on what makes money. There is profitablity in ESPN's name recognition, longevity and in some of what it offers. Fat just has be trimmed. I wish Bain and company would hire me

:mindblown: I don't know about that. Those guys get a lot of views from all demographics. I don't think their color shows their fan-base. I think it's trying to get younger users excited to watch ESPN.

But that is what I am saying black folks are always considered what is hip and shyt. Every network has used the whole wheel out the black folks when we are struggling for ratings or when we have a new network that needs to be viewed as hip or fresh.

shyt NBC wouldnt even let the cosby show get on air till them hoes were struggling ratings wise.

No, they didn't want it because they had a hit show with housewives. Al Michaels and bill Simmons talked about this. It was idiotic especially since SNF is the biggest show on tv

Exactly the executives at ABC just felt all the sports needed to go to ESPN. The NFL wasn't crazy about it but ESPN was still gonna pay crazy money for it even though it was on cable. Plus the NFL saw how the NBA was going the cable route with no reduction in money from the cable network so the NFL was cool with it.

is ESPN really hurting like that? or are the fat cats sitting up top not willing to cut back to 2 yachts instead of 5? :stopitslime:

ESPN is still a behemoth in the industry; those ad dollars they're getting from sportscenter in the mornings alone has got to be near the top in the entire business

nah...there's more to this that they aren't telling. :patrice:

Nah, Mike & Mike aren't going anywhere

Greenberg moving on to do a new morning show. ESPN is trying to get Katie Nolan to pair with him.

The end of one of the longest-running partnerships in sports radio is coming soon.

SI.com has learned via multiple sources that ESPN executives are moving forward with the plan to shift Mike Greenberg—one half of the long-running Mike & Mike radio show on ESPN Radio—into a new role as the lead host of a television show that would air in the mornings on ESPN.

LINK

ESPN is secretly wooing FS1 rising star Katie Nolan, Sporting News has learned.

ESPN boss John Skipper, Connor Schell and producer Erik Rydhom have held exploratory talks with the Emmy-winning star of "Garbage Time" about joining the Worldwide Leader in Sports, according to sources.

.......

One possibility: pairing her with "Mike & Mike in the Morning" co-host Mike Greenberg for a national show that would create an All-Star morning show team — and mark the end of Greenberg's on-air 17-year partnership with Mike Golic.

The new Greenberg morning show will likely be produced in New York City where "Garbage Time" was shot. Nolan, a Boston native, has been reluctant to leave the East Coast for FS1's studios in Los Angeles.

ESPN Profit Plummets As Network Turns Left

How else to explain the network's fixation on Tom Brady's friendship with Donald Trump? Did any athlete have to explain his or her friendship with Barack Obama? I don't recall it.

But of course you wouldn't recall it.

Because rather than explain that friendship every athlete was praised to the high heavens for being friends with Obama.

How else to explain the lionization of Colin Kaepernick for taking a knee during the national anthem or the Missouri protesters for their fake protest that has nearly killed the university? How else to explain the continued coverage of each athlete who doesn't visit the White House or the every critical word of the king of triggered millenials, LeBron James? How about the villainization of Peyton Manning for a twenty year old mooning, Ryan Lochte for peeing outside, and Grayson Allen for having the absolute gall to trip someone during a basketball game?

ESPN is so desperate for white guys to behave badly that they treated Manning, Lochte, and Allen like the white horsemen of the apocalypse. How dare these guys moon, pee, and trip?!

Who the fukk is this guy? :scust:
