Tyson was a great add to this joint.

That's all Ray had to do the first fight and the second fight wouldn't have happened. Duran was mother! I wish people saw the other Duran instead of the "No Mas" one, but he quit so I guess that trumps all the ass that he whooped.:stopitslime:

Ray took that niqqa soul:blessed: and his heart:jawalrus:

lol easier said than done. Duran wouldn't allow Leonard to do that in his first fight. He was chasing him down and applying pressure.

It was obvious the hunger wasn't there. And even then, the 2nd fight was still very close.

This shyt was deeper than boxing, b.

Nah, Ray fought him toe to toe on purpose the first fight. Are you watching the show? He wasn't chasing him at all, Ray stood there.

Lol of course I'm watching it. Duran was applying pressure and controlling the pace. The Duran in the 2nd fight wasnt the same Duran either (yet he still kept it close)

I think there's alot more to it than just the boxing aspect as this special has shown.

What's more to it? You're protecting him, why?

The psychological aspect to it. It was obvious that Duran didn't like Leonard. And in the 1st fight he felt disrespected and wanted to stick it to Leonard. He fought angry. Leonard was overwhelmed. Duran won. Leonard was second guessing himself. The tables basically turned in the 2nd fight and Leonard basically got into Duran's head. From having the rematch early when Duran was partying and gaining weight to the actually fight where he was dancing and throwing bolo punches. Duran was pissed and embarrassed and basically said fukk this I beat him before I don't need to deal with this shyt.

I'm not trying to "protect" Duran. I just feel the No Mas fight (while I don't condone quitting) was made more than it should. I mean you have people that try to discredit Duran and act like his 1st win didn't count. You have people that make ignorant comments like if somebody made a hypothetical match of Duran vs Mayweather. People would be like "he quit against Leonard, Floyd would make him quit too". Like he quit because he was getting his ass kicked :beli: It was a close fight still. Wilfred Benitez schooled Duran, and he didn't quit then. Which shows it's deeper than just boxing.

IDK, I just think Duran is one of the greatest fighters ever, and it seems that everything he's done gets thrown out the window due to people's ignorant/misinformed views of the No Mas fight. So yea, I get a little salty cuz of that :yeshrug:

I don't excuse it, but I don't hold it against him like everybody else does :manny:

1. Read my initial post explaining my stance on Duran and the No Mas thing.
2. Duran lost breh, ain't noting deep about him quitting.
3. He made and continues to make numerous excuses on why he lost.
4. Please leave Floyd out of this, certain people been waiting for his name to come up.
5. Ray isn't in your group of fav fighters.....so I'm not surprised by your stance on this fight.:shaq:
6. He quit because he couldn't punch Ray, bottomline.

Sugar Ray>>>>>>Floyd.

There's no way in hell that Floyd would willingly fight toe to toe with a boxer that hits as hard as Duran, ever. I can give two shyts about a record. Boxing is more than an undefeated record. It was disheartening to see a man that prided himself as one of the baddest motherfukkers to enter a boxing ring and just quit like that. But I guess that's just boxing and life. Ray aged like fine wine and Duran just looks old as shyt. To me, Duran didn't come prepared and didn't have that intensity and will to beat Ray like he did in the first fight. It was like he was still high off the first fight. Also, they set that rematch up way too fukking fast. If I was a managing Duran I wouldn't have set up that fight up so soon, knowing that Duran was partying and stuffing his fukking face like a pig still.

Why they wait so long for the 3rd fight?

The Hearns fight presented itself the following year. Crazy thing is Ray had 2 fights before that and his last fight was 3 months before the Hearns fight. Can you imagine anyone today doing that? His eye got f*cked afterwards and had the brief comeback then jumped to the Hagler fight.

ray fought toe to toe and lost
why does that make him better den floyd?:russ:
floyd is a better pure boxer den ray and has better defense\
he wouldn't have fought him toe to toe
and floyd can hold it his own toe to toe anyway
