- Gorgeous= I always found EB averagel ooking but to each his own.

- Creative-I guess i'll give her that based stricltly on the limited music (mostly radio singles) I've heard form her
- Children and Relations with Hip Hop Legends- So as long as her relationships are with famous men having multiple baby fathers is a good thing?

- Every album is a classic or near classic- Never listened to a Badu album so no comment on this

While I never really have followed Badu as an artist I always respected the Afrocentric style she came into the game with which was rare and a breath of fresh air....but she lost all that respect when somone informed me of this soft core porn obviouslly ghetto gagger inspired music video(in which some sister takes a bath in what looks like semen while old ugly cacs stand over her) video she made as a publicity sturnt a year or so ago ..at that momment I knew her whole concious black sister persona was a gimmick:

Nothing you said would suggest Badu is a gimmick. She also already stated that the video was released without her and her sisters review and stamp of approval. Video wasn't that crazy either...it was very forgettable.

If Badu was really black feminist,natural sister or whatever image she trying to potray she would'v never agreed to the concepts of that video...Also I've heard hear fro/dreads are fake...That makes her a gimmick imo...Even if what you said is true the very fact that she and her sister willingly agreed to letting a pack whiteboys reanact a bukkake scene on them in an Erykah Badu music/promotion video speaks volumes..just like most artist clearly Erykah has her price and is not above selling sex at the expense her or her own sister's own self respect muchless the destructive messges such filth sends to black females(her core audience)..the video was forgettable cause EB's is irrelevant right now but I found it tasteless publicity stunts I've seen from a mainstream artist.

Everyone knows Badu wears various wigs at times..but how is that a gimmick? You must not have followed Badu when she chopped all her hair off. LOL @ her not being a natural woman.

Also her sister has nothing to do with her, her sister is her own adult.. Badu was not involved in such a scene and did not condone such a scene when it was released. I dont even think she was present when the said scene was shot. Also you are overexaggerating the actual scene. What pack of white boys did you see in the video?

This thread alone shows that Badu is still relevant. She is a soul artist who prefers to tour and do live shows. She doesn't record often for a reason but always has an audience when she tours. So by her standards and goals that she has set for herself she is very relevant.

yo, you really can't say anything bad about this women. Everything everyone said is true. There really aren't many women as real, thick, beautiful and conscious as her -with an unlimited amount of underrated messages in songs.

Plus you can watch her live and know instantly that if you hit that it would be better than any pus u ever dreamed of... and the conversation after would be even better.
